Okay some of us do not know what the rainbow family is and some people have by passed threads questioning this. We just want to know...we are not trying to be stupid or anything but we just don't know. Explain to those who inquire what the rainbow family is? A commune? Related to Zendik? Peace and Love? Love and Hate? What?
we're all the rainbow family and we are all equal members in it. although there are the drainbows. those are the ones who do alot of drugs and manipulate and take advantage of people by filling your head with nonsense and giving off an air like they know so much and you know so little. most rainbows have stopped going to the gatherings cus we're so damn sick of those people, they have no love, and theyd gladly get you hooked on heroin.
Rainbow is many things to many people. It's my tribe, my people, and like any people, there is diversity. There are people who are shining examples of what humanity could be, and there are people who are lost and confused and who create chaos and misunderstanding. There's all kinds. Rainbow is the largest non-organization with the most non-members. We have no leaders and no doctrines, and yet the movement has lasted thirty years. Sure, there are scammers and violent people, but what else do you expect. Utopia, you'll remember, is translated from 'no place'. SO there's no utopia. But there is more love in Rainbow than any place I've ever been. To me, Rainbow represents the Rainbow people that many native cultures have prophecies of; a people of many races and faiths who come together to create a unified humanity and bring health back to the planet. We have been excepted as an indigieonous tribe by some of the other tribes. Some kids dont see it that way. They think it's about hedonism and 60's nostalgia, but it is about a new way for the future that we have the possibility of holding and carrying. And there's room for the hedonism too. That's what unity is about.
And most importantly, we're a family. Rainbow are people who realize that all humanity is a family, and behave in a manner that reflects that. Some of our brothers are sick, and it is not our place to judge them, but to allow them the space to heal, and to provide whatever else we can ourselves to help them heal. When you have a family, your priorities are different. The health and well-being of your family come before material gain or anything else. When the whole of humanity is your family, you are a healer first and foremost.
oh..okay...i dig it. yeah...that is how i see my life. as a matter of fact my fave colour is the rainbow. i cannot just choose one because they are all equally beautiful. peace and love
The Rainbow family is place to come and heal or rejoyce. depending on a person's situation, the rainbow family can be many things. I know for some that are homeless, the family is a refuge from the hard, dark and dangerous big city streets. The Family is a place to belong and to be loved. The family is a place you can pray for world peace. You can also learn a great many things from and teach the othre people there. Of course this is a beginning.... its all really up to you what the rainbow family means. good luck !
