Yes, I love me some Anathema, but this really is in the wrong subforum, as I don't think they have much to do with trance or ambient except maybe the sort of ambient-ish atmosphere. Anyway, among the songs that I love best are (in no particular order): And I lust... Fragile dreams Anyone, anywhere Release Angelica [EDIT: you were right about the song Judgement. What a climactic song! ] I probably forgot a few noteworthy mentions but these are the ones I could come up with from the top of my head. Do you also know Katatonia? If not you'd probably like them as well.
oh! thanks i'll look for their songs! well i didi,'t knew where to pout anathema, you know their music is so unique so i just don't know wich style is that do you know? anyway, waht do you think of their decesion of no longer making metal, do you prefer the doom albums or the ''dunno what style" albums?
While I'm a doom metal fan, in Anathema's case I do prefer the newer albums, these have more tracks that really stand out from the rest and there seems more genuine emotion behind the music. But it's a long time since I've listened to Anathema's older albums so maybe I should try those again to see what I think of them now. But anyway I certainly don't think it was a bad idea for them to change their music! They've never stopped making good music, and like this they reach more people with it.
they actually decieded to stop making metal music! but they still make a great and wounderful music! anathema is my drug! peace!
Well, I through it out there just to see weather there was another band by that name... Probably because of the fact that this is in the "ambient and Trance" forum, which makes no sense at all. Yeah, but in either case they're one of the worst band I've ever heard. Blegh.
i agree anathema it's a great band ..i really enjoy them.. some of my favourite tracks are : - a natural disaster -unchained ( 2007 demo ) -inner silence -better of dead - one last goodbye
An anathema fan turned me on to Antimatter. Leaving Eden, their newest release, is, for me, one of the best releases ever--by anyone. Also, thanks for the listings of favorite Anaethema songs cuz while the new Antimatter is more in line with what i listen to, your lists of favorite Anathema songs have helped me find their awesomeness. I've got Fragile Dreams on repeat right now and prolly will for the rest of the night. I'ts sometimes hard to get into a new band--espescialywhen you get hit with all thier music at once. thanks to all of you for posting your favorite Anathema songs. I get it now.
