How can I tell him to cut his damn hair

Don't get me wrong, guys with long hair are hot. but my boyfriends is way too freakin long, and its all slicked back so he sort of resembles a redneck
(instead of looking "metal" like he wanted to, hah)

if he really wants it that long that so be it. I'll love him regardless.

but.... i really miss how much hotter he was when his hair was shorter.
i just want to try to find a nice but effective way to get him to cut his hair...

Try telling him how sexy you thought he was with shorter hair. You can even use then and now photos to say "see how hot you looked!"

It is his hair, so if he doesn't want to cut it then you have to learn to love the hair of the man you love. I have the opposite problem, my husband shaves his head. He doesnt like how he looks with hair, so I am out of luck. Thats okay though bald is beautiful. It's just sometimes I wish I could wrap my fingers in silky hair as I pull him in for a kiss....*sigh*
