well before i effed up my relationship, all we did was fight on the phone, but we were okay in person. how far is the distance? also, make sure you trust them a lot. i use to get so upset when i'd call my bf and he would be in his room filled with girls. i knew he would never cheat on me, but still. also, it's very expensive. for me it was crazy cause we were in 2 different countries...we got to see eachother once every 3 months...bought phone cards every day, spent $600 a month in phone cards. he broke up with me, as you know, on sunday so i guess one thing is ill have money. lol but i dont want money, i want him! how long have you guys been together? my friends are trying to convince me that i should find a guy in the same area as me...you also need the physical aspect of the relationship, i've heard. it helps a lot. has this helped at all?
We've been together for over a month now and all is great, but the distance is literlay half way across the globe, I cant wait to see her, but sometimes it seems so far away , shes coming here for the summer next year...Shes really amazing and I do trust her a lot.. My friends are a skeptical of the LDR thing too, but I think it can work if we are both committed.
well being committed is really great...but in the end, if you were thinking long term, wouldn't you want to be able to see the person you love every day ???
I think long distance relationships can work in a few instances...or all of them put together... 1. You must have a solid relationship before the distance thing actually occurs. 2. You must be exceptional communicators. Communication is important in ALL relationships, but especially important in LDRs. 3. You must have developed real trust between eachother. 4. You also must be really creative in how you express your love and open to how you will express it. 5. Good listeners!
I will hopefully, we already have a plan for that..She will visit here every holiday she can until I am done with my degree (in 20 months maybe less) then I am off to work in her country and city. I might be overly optimistic, but I have to be if this is to work.
