I just wanted to make something VERY clear, being that this forum is filled almost daily with the same question :
"Will I have a bad trip, here is my situation..."
Some people may tell you it's all in your mind, a state of mind, set and setting, and so on and so forth. This is all very true, However I want to point out that no one can ever give any of you solid information. LSD is a very volatile and fragile chemical, just like the mind's that it works on. No matter what your set and setting is, no matter how wonderful and full of luck your life situation currently is, and no matter who you take LSD with, you can have an overwhelming experience. The only advice one can even consider in this type of situation is to have someone around you that is not high, and actually cares about your well being. An experienced tripper is not guarenteed to help you when taking decent doses, as everyone is vulnerable to a mental collapse, some just take longer to break than others.

This thread is not meant to scare or deter any new comer to the wonders of psychedelic drugs but it is the truth and it should be understood very clearly and taken into deep consideration before consumption. LSD can show you heaven and hell without warning, so make sure you are in a safe enviorment and if all goes wrong, and you are still aware of your situtaion, remind yourself that it's just a drug. If God kicks your ass, it's for a reason. Mother Nature CAN be a bitch!
Much love, peace, and good health to all of you, and most importantly, happy trails. Be safe and take your time.
    Namaste.

Some things I like to add:

Although comforting music can be very helpful, don't think you need music to stay in a good mood, or that thrashy/evil, noncomforting music will give you a bad trip
My friend has had a bad trip to bob marley, thinking he was screaming at my friend and banishing him to hell
I have listened to very 'evil' music and the dissonance became a bliss for me, although I still don't recommend metal

If you want to trip with a good friend, but being good friends you have had many arguments and lingering guilts; don't give up on tripping because you think it will give you a bad trip
It can be very pleasant tripping with someone of whom you have had a very unstable relationship with
I find that if you accept confronting your fear with best hope of cleansing, people you feel most uncomfortable around can give you most comfort

Choose a setting that is most fulfilling for you
In my case, a warm breezy but sunny day with lots of color (trees, blue sky, birds chirping) is perfect
I felt very contained in a room and my thoughts were constricted and I just kept building up on an entity of disgrace of human conformist antics and capitalism
When I tripped outside in great weather, my thoughts ran free and nothing seemed frightening as I lived as a child once again, giggling and stumbling about

the last thing i want when i am experiencing an 'overwhelming' high is to have a sober person 'trying' to help.

like relayer says, there is really no one who can give you such advice. better you find your own way.... and ya, set and setting is very important - believe it or not 'set and setting' will make or break a trip. those who think that you can have a trip that would need a sober sitter even with a wonderful 'set and setting' are people who's set and setting is such that they believe that lsd is unpredictable. what i mean is that because they believe that lsd is unpredictable their set and setting is unpredictable. those who understand how to create a comfortable environment and are clear headed with little to no negative karma that are tripping with likeminded friends will enjoy a wonderful trip every time... or in other words don't listen to relayer - just because lsd freaks some people out does not mean that it is ok to scare people in such a way.

lsd is a wonderful drug when used in a positive set and setting. and lets all remember that set and setting includes ones state of mind and current beliefs. best if you trip with people and stay away from sober people or people on other drugs such as alcohol, cocaine or meth. but then again that is just my advice - take it or leave it. experiment and remember what we said while you find out for yourself. but remember that if you are so afraid that you think you will need someone sober to help you, then your set and setting is such that you will experience what you fear!
