I picked 20th Century. I feel we've had several huge accomplishments during that period of time. And we have technology. Me being into technology, an era without it would slowly kill me. Which is pretty sad. xD
I would not be able to choose, I will live to see the future(I hope) but I would want to go back to every time period really.
I picked 50+ years in the future, though I'm uncertain whether or not I'd actually enjoy that. It'd probably ruin the present as everything would seem fairly prehistoric. Though if there were a war or something it might be able to be avoided in our world. Going back to the 60s could be great too actually... Ps. Is there any chance the hipforums will go back to the way they were? Ever since it's changed, I haven't been posting because it's impossible to navigate.
i'd be torn on where to time travel too i think first stop would definatly be the 60s in america as i think i really missed out on not being alive for that era i'd go to woodstock 67 i'd march for freedom and equal rights i'd get totally high and i'd definatly try to fuck jim morrison (dont think that woulda been too hard~) i'd march to stop the vietnam i'd dance naked, i'd pass free love, i'd pass the free highs i'd live out doors then i'd fly back home to manchester englan englan acrros the atlantic sea and change history by make=ing the hippy and free love scene even bigger there then maybe we wouldnt have to live in a stupid future where the laws fuck over your freedom man do i hate prohibition do as you will as long as it harms none thats all everybody should be living for instead of all these fucking laws and bullshit and a media controlled world but to be fair maybe we could bring the past to the future and start fighting even harder for what we all believe in equal rights still has never happened they just pretend it did
The future. I'm not sure what I'll find but I'm assuming it's pretty cool. And who knows, maybe they've created timetravel in that time. Travelling back in time is much less appealing to me. What with the slaves in one period, plagues in another, dinosaurs, old punishments for crimes etc. The past is not my cup of tea.
i wouldnt chose the future because if the climates changing as much as they say it is then i dont think there will be one
I would choose 1 week into the future so I could get the lottery numbers for next week, them come back and buy a ticket and live happily ever after.
the main reason i'd want to see the past is so I can see just how inaccurate or incomplete our history books are. since history was written by the victorious conquerers, the accounts of those they oppressed would likely be suppressed. i'd want to see the actual place drugs had in history, more so than what we know. mostly I just want to hang out with mozart and galileo. I also am uninterested in seeing the future...I prolly wouldn't like what I saw. I like my own future to be unknown, as well as the future in general
I'd love to visit just about any time in the past - I'm a history dork - but if I could only pick one trip I'd still choose the future. I know some things about the past, but I don't know anything at all about the future, y'know? ...well, I know one thing: the first decade of the 21st century will be looked at as a dark and shameful time for America. But you don't exactly have to be a genius to figure that out.
I'd pop back to the 60s gladly, summer of love. I'd make sure I ingested so much acid that I'd have flashbacks remembering the events every other day when I returned. Orrr...I'd check out the future to see if it was actually worth it.
I'm very curious about the future but I'd still chose the past. I work at a history theme park, in the prehistoric period. I'd want to go see how it really was, what the people were like, what all the things looked like that are missing from the archaeological sites because they were made from organic materials and have not survived...
Aside from social and technological reasons, as I am more interested in the future than the past, I so voted.
It would be cool to see what life was like in the past, but i'd rather live in the future. Technology is tough to beat, it keeps getting better.
