Except that this thread is about foreigners(NOT Americans) who only speak one language.

 

No to me its about how it sucks that I can't understand anyone anymore because a lot of people around here don't speak any english but moved to this country and still some of them don't bother to learn it. It's not like im racist towards Mexicans or anything, I have tons of Mexican friends .

and actually I walk up and down every single escalator I go on. =]

 

My husband speaks fluent spanish and he's teaching me. I think I'm catching on...I'm terrible with languages. >< Mostly word placement in sentences.

It's always fun to see native speakers reaction when the big fat white guy busts out with the spanish! ^_^

i've had people talk shit about one of my friends in spanish thinking he didn't speak spanish. well he did haha and they felt stupid

 

I always listen to Mexicans talk random trash because they think I can’t understand them. The men always talk the most vulgar trash about woman out in public seriously vulgar stuff. Most of the women just talk about shopping and buying things.
Sometimes I hear them talk about stealing stuff in the stores it kind of funny they act like they are just looking at stuff and tell each other it is clear get those ones or telling their kids to put stuff in their coats.

 

OMG I hate it when people do that!!! Dont get me wrong, ive done it a few times to say something i didnt want others to understand, but not to talk shit. hell, sometimes my sis and i will break out in sign language, but thats just rude and cowardly. we had that problem in HS where the spanish speaking kids would call the gay boys names in spanish till i told the little motherfucker to grow some balls and say it in english if he was such a man. shut him the hell up. I guess its their right, but it pisses me off coz i understand both and ive heard some shit ya'll.

Have you ever considered the ppl who have come over to either CANADA or AMERICA are trying to speak ENGlISH but ppl like you who critisize them make them feel worthless because of how they may speak?

Put your feet in their shoes English is a VERY VERY tough subject and language to comprehand and get a hang of when your just coming over from somewhere different. I tutor people who don't know much english and to see what they have to go through is hard for me because i didn't know english very well in H/S because i hardly went bc i was hospitalized a lot . I can only imagine what its like for them. Instead of complaining HELP them understand.
