I have a few specifics I was hoping to find out. First, I'd like to know if once put into budding(12/12) should the dark hours continue to be greater, or is 12/12 efficient til the end? Second, I germed plants together, out of two, one seemed to get to budding quicker, so I separated them and will be budding one sooner than the other, if the 12/12 is to stay the same, then I would potentially be able to put them back together, for easier maintenance? But if the light should change to darker, then this would not apply? Or a big leap in dark hours won't be a bad effect on the plants? Third, you're gonna hate me, I use different fertilizers and soil that are ORGANIC MiracleGro, I have had a few leaves curling upward, but I know it isn't a big issue. I haven't had any burn problems... I think? Fourth, since I'm not too experienced in these specific plants, I should've budded them two months ago, almost, but just started a couple weeks ago, are my chances of a big yield lost? Or better? Any help is appreciated!
Ive been led to believe that increasing the number of dark hours can delay harvest, but take a more experienced growers word on this would be better. leaf fringes standing or curling up could be heat stress or toxic salt build up.
1.12/12 to infinity and beyond;>) 2.The only prob might be if one gets taller than the other so that the shorter doesn't get enough light, 'cuz the light is too far away:>) 3. Fert go lightly!>) 4. After using MG you ask this Q?>D shouldn't hurt them at all might make for stronger plantz (if you weren't using MG), sorry just teasing=>DDD:jester:
Good to know... So it is a bad to give it more than 12 hrs of darkness? One of my friends said they'd leave 'em in dark for the last couples days before harvest so that they get really potent... bad idea? One is taller, that's why each has it's own light. And truthfully, I think the light was too close to my other one, cuz the fan I have makes it a bit cooler, I get goose bumps sometimes when I get into my closet... But another weird question... Until I moved the taller plant out to start it on 12/12, the shorter plant(not budding it yet) only had 3 leaves, but like 4 nodes already... then as soon as I moved the other out to bud it's next group of leaves had 5... Any ideas?
Think Pink!>) This would be easier with pics. ya know!>) That's MJ for ya start off with 1 leaf side, then three, I've grown some strains that ended up with 14 leaves per fan, seems like every new node had an extra leaf=>O
According to Cervante's grow bible giving plants more than 12 hours or darkness will only delay harvest and will not produce more potent or bigger yields. The safest and most common regiment is 12/12 but some growers have experimented with 12 hrs dark, 6 hrs light, 12 hrs dark, 6 hrs light, etc. As a rule of thumb give your plants a consistent 12 hour dark period, and if you want you can try experimenting with 12/6 but that is controversial and it may mess with your crop.
