album recommendations: brian eno - plateaux of mirrors - music for airports daniel lanois - belladonna (gorgeous stuff on this album) also a band from the 80's but definitely relates to Enya the band cocteau twins try the albums "victorialand" and "treasure" both great. (try "treasure" first) those should do the trick!

It may seem odd, but Division Bell by Pink Floyd helps me relax, and always have. Actually, pretty much anything by Pink Floyd relaxes me. It may sound odd, and mainstream, but a band called Exchange, and yes, even some Yanni helps me relax as well.
Id recommend Royksopp for some good ambient soothing music may not be what your after but i think its great.
My favourite ambient label, with a lot of great psy ambient artists like Solar Fields, Aes Dana and Carbon Based Lifeforms: http://www.ultimae.com
I find Feist to be extremely calming. A lot of her songs have a bit of a "pop" beat to them but her voice is AMAZING. Broken Social Scene is also very good. Máire Brennan (also called Moya Brennan) is Enya's sister and they share many similarities in music composition. Not sure on your views about jazz but if you are open to new genres John Coltrane is the god of Sax and will calm you til you sleep
I just wanted to say thanks to the OP for this thread. I love ambient, and have found some great artists among the suggestions...I really like Feist!
