Am I the only one who hates tipping? I tip waiters/waitresses usually, although if I feel they took too long or otherwise messed up serving me I won't tip them. You should only tip someone for GOOD service, I don't know how this whole "Tip people all the time" shit happened. I tip pizza delivery boys, but that's because I order a lot of pizza and don't want them spitting in my food lol. I hate tipping bartenders. These faggots spend 10 seconds making a drink for me (Woooo you poured a beer into a mug, hard work) and expect me to pay them a dollar extra? Fuck them! Go back to college you faggot! And the biggest thing about tipping that pisses me off, is tipping CAB DRIVERS. Who the fuck decided we should tip these smelly pieces of shit? How come we tip cab drivers, but not bus drivers? Fuck tipping cab drivers, I refuse to. Most of them are middle eastern anyway, my tip for them is to take a shower and shave!
I agree with you Brons. The only argument i have is that if you worked in the service industry you'd be hopeful for tips too.
I don't tip very often. I will do so if I get tip-worthy service, but generally not. I do like getting tips though, and when I pour someone $200 worth of drinks and put up with their drunken bullshit, and there's no tip, I become a little hateful. especially towards people who collect 30 cents of change after spending twenty bucks.
i tip based on service. mainly because even the worst service deserves your portion of their wage. if i'm in a state where servers are paid less than minimum wage, i'll tip 10% even if they're shit just for bringing me any food at all. if it's super busy and they're fucking up for that, then i'll tip 15%. i shouldn't be penalized. if, however, the service is amazing, i've been known to tip upwards of 30-40% depending on the sort of establishment i'm in. i won't tip a bartender a dollar every time he hands me a bottle of beer, though. which is why i don't go to bars.
i never eat out or nothing.. although the last time i did me and my girl were at applebees and the service was bootsie as fuck.. like they took a fuckin hour to bring us our check and i was seriously about to skip out without paying and when they finally did i was not about to tip that fool for his shitty ass service
The thing with cab drivers though - fucking ridiculous. Last time I took a cab was from JFK to downtown Manhattan, which is a flat rate of $45 plus I think $4 for the toll over the bridge. I get Habib Jihadamuhummad as my driver. He doesn't help me load my shit into the trunk. OK, that kind of annoys me. Then as we're driving, I noticed they put little TV's in the back seat so you can watch the news. I thought that was cool, so I was sitting there watching it. The asshole told me to turn it down because he couldn't hear his music. On top of that, he drove like a complete asshole and talked on his cellphone very loudly in Arabic the whole 45 minute ride. So I got out at my destination and handed him a $50. Then he was like, "you forgot the toll" "No I didn't. The toll was $4" "Yeah, uh tip?" "Sorry dude - I'm not giving you any more than that" "You're very cheap" "You suck at your job" I got my luggage out of the trunk and was in a really shitty mood. Fuck that shit.
ever go to a bar and not get served at the bar for a half hour because its rather busy?...i dont have that fucking problem...sounds like some of you would though...
and i bet you are treated well and treat your customers well. but i will not tip well for someone who dumps my plate down (with the wrong order) and looks at me like i just shit on their carpet.
I tip if the service is good. But I have no problem stiffing someone if the service is bad. People that wait tables and serve drinks deserve tips if the service is good and friendly. They do not get paid enough from their employer. Usually I am a very generous tipper.
I have ocd that doesnt let me give bad service. I feel too guilty. Plus I love people. ( I dont really have ocd)
i have. because i started out being ignored. so far as i'm concerned, if i get ignored for half an hour before i get my first beer, i'm going elsewhere and the bartender gets jack shit from me. however, if i'm ordering mixed drinks, i'll tip awesome. if i'm paying someone a dollar to open my beer bottle, i'll feel like a jackass. but if i get my beers in a timely manner, like before i've been sitting there with an empty for 10 minutes, you bet he'll get money. depends on how he starts out serving me. waitresses i tip better. they're less uppity and working harder.
there's been a few times i've left $50 for a $50 dinner, or $20 for a $12 haircut. when i'm happy, i want everyone to be happy.
