I was fairly sure the only st. patricks day celebration in the US that was any larger than savannah's was new york cities. dublin? that's pretty hard to believe man.
I went and celebrated saturday with the chicago river green and the parade downtown. I am not Irish but ill drink with them and wear green!
I'm in a country that doesn't even know what St' Patrick's day is but tonight me and some American friends here will be celebrating over a couple of bottles of Jameson's. Not the best, but the only Irish whiskey we can get. Zoomie, excuse my ignorance, but in all my history lessons at school, I never once heard about when St. Patrick, a poor Welsh pig farmer, tortured anybody. Care to elaborate?
I got two more hours go, so I'll get drunk first to prepare, and I'm wearing my green Ireland Soccer shirt from the 1994 World Cup, too.
I know he was preaching to the pagans butI didn't think that he was torturing the masses. Maybe I'm wrong.
I'm not like that. I don't let strange men buy me drinks or any of that. I'll probably go out with my cousins, friends and/or my siblings. Would be a different story if you were to show up, however!
this is great, out of context anyway. like a haiku. I'm no Irishman and I don't need an excuse to get drunk either. alls I need is some sleep.
somebody please explain to me what is supposed to be exciting about using a legal chemical substance to make a complete idiot of one's self? i DO like the color green though. and i happen to think green and orange look even prittier togather then either do by themselves. and yes, i do know what they both stand for in the context. i wonder if anyone else does? =^^= .../\...
Well, being Irish, I also know what they stand for in the context of out flag and also what the white between them signifies. As regard to why it is fun to get drunk. mmmmm, I can't really explain this. It just is. Like the sky.
Exactly what do you think "Chasing the snakes from Ireland" means? And prithee tell, what do you think happened to the poor, heathen countryfolk who refuse to submit to the Holy Roman Empire? This is bearing in mind that the previous empire had destroyed Gaul and Albion, their remnants falling back to Mona and Eire. Those who were left after hundreds of years of Viking raids fell victim to Constantine. Do you think they were offered bread and shoes and free passage to Scotland?
