this question scares me. i have brown carpet. theres no way to tell what the previous tennants of this place did to that carpet.
of course it does... most of the time anyway the famous question you are basing this off of, about the tree in the forest making no sound, is a completely different situation, relating to the definition of sound being vibrations converted to something meaninful inside a person's ears, or not if no one is around. the carpet, on the other hand, will stain and remain stained until someone comes along to clean it up. even if nobody ever sees it, the stain is still there; a stain isn't dependent upon being seen before it becomes a stain. then again, sometimes you have that rock hard poop that slides right out and doesn't even require wiping... that may not leave a stain
