This is a hard question to answer. I mean, why would you watch a show if all of the characters didn't engage you? (Or, at least, most of them.) When I fall in love with a show, it's usually because of the characters. All of them, their personalities, the changes they go through and the interactions between them. This is what makes a show worth watching. For example, my two favorite shows of all time are Babylon 5 and Tales of the Gold Monkey. Could I pick a favorite character from either of them? Nope. They're all good!
One of my favorite tv actors is Vic Morrow: The show he is most famous known for was called "combat" Vic later in the 80s lost his life in the movie remake of the twilight zone. When the chopper crashed Vic lost his life when he lost his head to the choppers blades. he also fought his way across Germany in WW2. RIP Vic you were one of the good ones!
