    Hello! :)

I'm not sure if this is considered a health question or not, so sorry if this goes some where else...

I don't have the best vision around, but it's not the worst.
What's strange to me, is the severity seems to fluctuate.
Some times I can see so clear, it seems like I just got laser surgery.
And other times I can hardly read the text on my computer screen.
My vision has been like this at least 6 years now.

Does normal degradation of vision fluctuate like this?
My average vision quality doesn't seem to be getting worse, thank god.
And I'd like to keep it that way!

Any info from you guys is appreciated :)

blurred vision could be alot of things. if you have been having it for six years its most likely nothing major. (i did say MOST LIKELY NOTHING MAJOR!) of course it could be major! it might be something like a long term warning of a stroke months and/or years down the road. when was the last time you had a eye exam? most people need to have an eye exam every 2 years. some people need to have their eyes examine more offen. you need to see a medical eye doctor. (ophthalmologist.) whatever you do don't see an optometrist. (thats a doctor of optometry.) they are good for contacts and glasses, but most of them are piss poor at picking up underling conditions and/or treating them! ophthalmologist are very well trained to deal with major vision disorders.

    Thanks Mr. Blackcat! :)
I should be able to see a ophthalmologist in a few months.

I was bored one day, so I decided to make what I see on the bad days with photoshop: :)

The image above is really close to how I see when my vision isn't the best...
Except the text flare on top is more glowy looking.
    It has been worse before.
Never has text not been legible while squinting.

I wonder if you have an issue with dry eyes.

Hmm... I don't think I have dry eyes!
Though living in Phoenix makes it a good possibility...
Wouldn't they stick to the sockets or some thing if they are dry?

I was looking at this site:
    http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003029.htm

It said if you experience blind spots, you should call 911!
I've experienced blinds spots before - twice, actually! (I guess over six years this isn't two frequent...)
I suppose I should tell my ophthalmologist about this...
Wish it would go into more detail. I wanna know what I broke! :p lol

I remember reading some where that sodium can alter vision.
I'll try reducing my salt intake to see if that makes a difference. (No pun intended :p)

Thanks for the tips so far! :)

blined spots are big time bad news! like i said it may be a sine of a stroke; but now from the example of your blurred vision and, the blined spots it strongly suggest lost of vision! your condition looks more like macular degeneration. at your age that is very highly improblable! it is very highly unlikely, BUT it does happen! you might have early on set macular degeneration. the horror author steven king is going blined from macular degeneration. most likely you just need glasses. dry eyes could be posible. you can buy "tears natural" and/or "hypo-tears" (brand names) over the counter. if you also have alleriges you can now buy zanacour over the conuter too. zanacour is the best one for both moisturing and alleriges. there are a couple of other brands, but you need a doctors prescription to get them. as for eating carrots... not a bad ideal at all! vitamin a does help pervent blindess. don't take vitamin a in pill form, or from cod liver oil! too much vitamin a is toxic and can cause death. carrots are full of beta caratine (the pre-curser of vitamin a) beta caratine is non toxic. if you eat too much of it your skin well turn orange (most people like having orange skin, because they think it looks like a sun tan.) if your skin does turn orange, just quit eating carrots, and your skin will turn back to it's natural tone. the best thing to eat for you eyes is leafy greens from the goosefoot family (beet greens, swiss chard, and spinach.) it has been confirmed that eating two (2) ounces of this type of green a day will in most people will prevent the on set of macular degeneration. it won't cure it, or stop it from taking its course (blindness) after you have developed it. i still recommend in the most strongly of terms that you still see an ophthalmologist! your vision is too precious to lose!
