What do you mean by "master"?

i got all these shows, in a unzipd folder id like to rezip or compress the whole folder for burning so i can put it on 1 or 2 discs rather than one show at a time? im trying to clean up my pc, so i can open up space for new shows?

okay, you're asking for a big process.

first burn the uncompressed/unzipped (i'm guessing they're .flac) to cds, these will be your
"master" copies. each show should take 3/4 disks depending on the band.

after you've burnt the lossless quality songs, you then have two options for compression, either put them into an archive (zip, rar, 7zip) or convert them to another/smaller format, such as mp3. the negatives of the latter are that mp3s are lossy, though hardly noticeable until you really crank it! from there you can also put them into a zip/rar archive.

to do the first step you'll need a cd burning tool, i use http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads.html

for the second you will need a tool to make archives, winrar can do that (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm)
or, to convert them to mp3, find any program using google, i don't have a favourite.

i hope this helps, btw, what shows do you have? =D

i like WinRAR... u just want to re-compress them in a folder as a backup, then burn the folder on a cd? i would just download WinRAR, get that installed, then go to ur folder(s) u wanna compress... right click and select the add to "archive"... when ur in there u probably want to switch the compression drop down to Best, might take longer, but im sure it can shrink it down more. if u have a dvd burner why not just burn all the files on a dvd, that way everything will fit.

    ummm u unzipped the shows
but u still have the zips
burn them, then delete the unzipped files
    that simple
unzipping a file does not destroy the original zip file

    Exactly.

Also, a video or audio file is already compressed. The compression rate is defined by the codec. It likely won't compress any smaller than it is. Compression only removes redundancy. Putting them into a zip file will just make them more convenient, but not necessarily smaller.

How many file and what size are the files?

I've not seen Max Creek, but i do like them very much, I've been to Lupos maybe four or five times, it's a fun place.

btw, internetarchive is awesome. I'm glad i was of assistance.

    keep the peace.

    a sigle dual-layer DVD-R disc will hold over 8 GB. A dual-layer DVD-R burner runs about $20-$50 USD. Deffinately worth it because a 50-pack of DVD-R's costs nearly the same as a 50-pack CD-R's.
