I used to go barefoot more often back in 1990's..
Me and my friends were into the hippie thing, you know peasant shirts, bell bottoms dragging the ground..people did not almost noticed I was barefoot..!
Now it's a bit more difficult to see me around without shoes on, but sometimes I like to go barefoot on weekends.
A few weeks ago I went to the mall in a pair of old jeans, t-shirt and flip flops. As soon as I got off the car, I took them off and went barefoot the entire afternoon.

Did you get any comments when you were in the mall? Were you able to go into the stores without too many problems?

not really.. some people kinda looked at me a little funny maybe but most of them didn't mind at all..It felt totally okay to be barefoot.

It's way cool to wear long bells that drags the floor when you're walking! The shoe police does not always catch you.

I know what you mean; I have the same problem. Then again, shorts and bare feet are like peanut butter and jelly; they were just made for each other! ;)
