Probably the Worst Crime Story I have Read in a Year

Sometimes I try not to read the news, but I cannot keep away.

Once again, this is the type of story that makes me support the death penalty. I also remember driving through this town once, and the kid at the gas station had a shirt with a devil on it and long fingernails and was talking with some weird older creepy guy. I had the urge to pummel them both for some strange reason.

I think "devil worship" is big around there or something.

ALTON, Illinois (AP) -- Banished to the basement, the 29-year-old mother with a childlike mind and another baby on the way had little more than a thin rug and a mattress to call her own on the chilly concrete floor.

Five adults and a 12-year-old child were charged with Dorothy Dixon's murder.






Dorothy Dixon ate what she could forage from the refrigerator upstairs, where housemates used her for target practice with BBs, burned her with a glue gun and doused her with scalding liquid that peeled away her skin.

They torched what few clothes she had, so she walked around naked. They often pummeled her with an aluminum bat or metal handle.

Dixon -- six months pregnant -- died after weeks of abuse. Police have charged two adults, three teenagers and a 12-year-old boy with murder in the case that has repulsed many in this Mississippi River town.

"This is heartbreaking," police Lt. David Hayes said. "It was almost as though they were making fun of the abuse they were administering. This woman was almost like living in a prison."

people are totally fucked up.... we need to turn it all around its an almost impossible task to turn evryone around but we can atleast give it our best.

 

i don't agree with charging the 12 year old boy, he needs extensive counseling. but those other fuckers need to be lynched in town square.

the victim's 1 year old son weighed only 15 pounds when they saved him. i hope he can make it.

 

Its crazy to think of all the terrible things that are going on every moment that we have no idea about.

i wish i had some youthful hope and drive to change things, but it fades everytime I hear about something like this.

Notice that the bitch in charge used to have a meth habit. I have a feeling that is causing an increase in these kind of overly violent crimes....she thought she had a slave.

 

don't you wish we could stick that bitch in the stocks in the middle of town and let people punish her however the hell they like? like in the dark ages? sometimes that stuff is very tempting.

 

I wish she would be executed, but no one here agrees with me on that ever, and Illinois has a stay on executions

 

actually Gary, in certain situation...like this one...i do agree with execution
but with just as much painful methods as they used on the person they eventually killed.

 

i just don't think our executions are personal enough. i'm all for vengeance. sterile executions gross me out though.

 

People who torture deserve to be tortured. Just they can see how it feels...then they should be thrown down a deep well...

The 12 year old is probably a lost cause...I don't know if he could be deprogrammed.

 

i hope he can, damn, but it's a shame. one of the "adults" charged is a 15 year old girl. i'm not quite okay with that, either. i think charging children as adults isn't quite right. i've "raised" two teenagers. they're not quite right in the head.

jeez. you know, but cousin, stacy, was always stunningly beautiful to me. but apparently she's descending into madness a bit. she ran a bath for her 8 year old son. they'd been having water heater troubles. she wasn't paying attention to how hot it was, and he went to step in. it burned his foot and he was so shocked he slipped and fell into the water. he ended up in the hospital with massive burns on his legs and genitals. no charges were being pressed, it seems it really was accidental.

just, man, some of the shit that i hear anymore just kills me and gives me nightmares.

 

The kid told DSS that he was being regularly tortured and they did nothing, now he's deformed because the burns were so severe on his penis and buttocks

Those adults should be stoned to death this has got to be one of the worst stories I've read in a while. Geez are we even making progress anymore or is it just getting worse.
