The late 80's and early 90's were some of the greatest times for rock ya nub. Not only did it put it a stop to shitty hair metal and bring good music to the mainstream like alternative rock and grunge, it was also a time were the underground scenes were exploding. Bands like Kyuss, Sleep, Monster Magnet, Electric Wizard, Acid King and tons of other underground bands that will always be remembered.

That's your problem, don't look at the top 40. There are tons of amazing bands out there, it's only a matter of finding them.

Hahahaha! Awww...I actually kinda feel bad for you. I mean I can stand some Tears for Fears...maybe some 80s grateful dead....metallica...other than that, nothing good came out. Cept grunge...but that killed the 80s glam bullshit. Flock of seaguls...blegh. Queen....don't even get me started.

Maybe you're right. Maybe I don't know what I'm missing...but maybe its better that way. The 80s killed Lennon...it killed Bonzo...and it redirected music straight at teenage boys- have you ever seen a girl at an Iron Maiden concert? No, you haven't...cause everyone there is a sweaty shirtless teen boy looking for a way to feel like hes...not cool....well, its like the kids who liked Spiderman(comic) cause they can relate to the skinny-nerd-who-gets-avoided-by-girls thing. Same difference.

The only thing better than a classic Eighties tune is the punk remake of that tune.

Truth is, if I had to choose between stupid & violent gangster rap and 80s... gimme the Tubes, Blondie, Rick Springfield and U2 anytime...

Besides, when my parents were freshly married, they went to a U2 concert in Dublin, and conceived me! So it can't be all bad.

Whoa! What's this hair metal bashing??

Hey, I know there was a lot of crap, mostly one hit wonders like Cinderella, Glass Tiger, Loverboy etc.

But Def Leppard, Motley Crue and Scorpions were at the forefrotn of the Hair Metal scene, are you going to tell me they're crap bands??? Honestly?

I for one hate grunge, to a point of course, I hate what it stands for all those depressed losers, and I absolute loathe Pearl Jam, but I like a few songs by Nirvana, a few.

Guns N Roses were also Hair Metal idiots.

Oh, bands like RATT and W.A.S.P have several good songs and has everybody forgotten Whitesnake? Some of the best hardcore rock songs ever made came from that band, golden and yeah I know Here I Go Again is tiring, you know what? Listen to Still of The Night or Judgement Day!!!

Sinner is probably the most underrated band of all time, also dished out great songs in the 80s.

Oh, of course, Poison was also an ultra lame Hair Band, like I said there were a lotta wanna be crappers but some of the best bands ever were Hair Metal at one point or another.

Bah, a generic comment. A ton of great rap has been and still is made, again though, you're not going to find this out by watching BET or listening to the radio.
