i tried re-searching dry sockets and it seems that its just the dislodging of the blood clot, so it would be caused by the sucking action when smoking. so 48 hours is probably a good amount of time for that to settle huh? i just dont want the smoke to infect the wound... iv been taking penicillin which should prevent that but im still trying to be cautious.

only have an eighth and its too good to make into brownies so smokings the best bet. thanks for the reply!

    No dont do it. Wait.

My friend did it, and then he said it felt like he was ripping his nerves in his gums out.

hey man. i've been in your situation before. generally nothing to worry about.
but think of a few things first.
when you get a cut, how does your body respond? do you get infections easy? if not, then go ahead. i used to smoke a pack a day cigarettes, and between 1/2 oz, to an oz a week. i couldn't wait to smoke after getting my teeth out. it kinda helps with getting along with the soreness too. yes you do risk getting an infection, but it's pretty damn hard to. just make sure to flush out your mouth lots if you're scared, and dont' hold any smoke in your mouth. breathe it RIGHT into your lungs.
    otherwise, go get chinese eyed.

invite a close friend over, use a bong, and let them pull the hits for you. otherwise, construct some sore of suction device (maybe a baby snot sucker, or a turkey baster) and use that., dry socket is not worth it. ripping out the stitches is not worth it (thats what happened to me, it was nasty when i ate, shit would ooze out of it when i talked, it was uber gross) so yeah, NO SUCTION

Having your friend pull a hit for you is probably the best idea that I have heard to counteract this in a long time.

WAIT at LEAST 2-3 days. Seriously. I smoked too soon and I regretted it. It's really worth it just to wait at least two days, three if you can make it.

the first few days i was mostly unconscious on percosets, moaning, swearing i would never have kids if it hurt like that, but i didn't want to take the chance smoking. I ripped my stitches out trying to eat something solid, and thats when I got the idea to have someone else do it for me.
Were any of yours impacted? 2 of mine were. I got to keep all of my wisdom teeth. I always thought that was cool.

i smoked day after and everyday since then haha

you could put gauze in so smoke never reaches it. or just like dont put your lips completely over it and suck in your hit and air at the same time. and for sure rinse with salt water after.

    thanks for all the replies!

i ended up packing a very loose bowl, only about half packed, lighty lit it and lighty inhaled. i followed it with mouth wash and now its the morning after, no pain. seems to have worked well but im still recovering so im going to hold off on any heavy smoking for a couple more days, atleast till ALL the discomfort is gone.

    thanks for the help
