cigarette buts

I smoke but i don't litter my cigarette buds i put them out and put the bud in my pocket. If you want to go up to the people who litter theres buds go ahead and do it, if someone came up to me i would listen to them and learn from it but some people are real assholes

 

My suggestion is that you just say, "hey, thats not respecting the creatures that give you clean air to breath...pick it up" And knowing that the sheep of the world will be stunned by this, they will...and maybe drop it somewhere else.....but theres not much you can do, unless you want to pick up behind them...Im tired of seeing the litter, and trees being killed for houses that some rich person "had" to have...
Wish more people cared...sad really.

 

ok, i'm devising a strategem for how to handle this now. It's starting to piss me off soooo much! Some people just have no idea!! So, I've decided that after politely asking them to remove their rubbish, if they act arrogant and refuse to do so, then i'll pull out the legal jargon. I think there's up to a $5000 fine for littering in this state.... and as i have a mobile phone, it won't take 30 seconds to call the cops on someone's arse... and I WILL do that, if it means they'll take the issue seriously. I'm so mad about this, after witnessing 11.... yes 11 people in the space of an hour and a half drop their butts on the ground today. It's sickening!!

So be warned, people. I'm not above making a citizen's arrest!!

 

A report by the Melbourne City Council and the Australian Institute of Urban Studies, says that despite big improvements, litter remains a problem, with cigarette butts the most common form of litter in the city. In the central business district, Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria discovered that butts made up 76 per cent of all litter found.

Right on sista..I agree with you there..I constantly tell my brother to throw it out in the trash can,but when I'm out in the yard I see em' all over the place..
I mean how possibly hard is it to walk two or three paces over to the trashcan and elevate your arm and dump those good-for-absolutely-nothing- "ciggarettes?".. I mean,good Lord! Go take a look outside..in the street,the forrest,the sidewalks,out in nature..the middle of nowhere..all there is trash,and ciggarette butts..If there aint a trash can around,carry a bag with you..and throw em' in there..People are so ignorant..And entirely rude..


The earth does not belong to us,we belong to the earth...How 'bout a little respect for the earth? Look at all it gives you...

 

Theres little ashtrays that fold up and fit in your pocket. they also keep the smell in.

But i do respect native americans with their tobacco..but it's not like we just litter like that..we have pipes that we use. we thank the tobacco crops for providing..and smoke to heal,and to send our requests and offerings to the creator..And would not disrespect the earth by stealing from it without asking,
and would not disrespect the earth by littering..as the white man does..

 

eh, smokers dont even think those buts are littering. they can an do give 4 minute lectures on how to make a small environmental imact, then cruch a but and throw it into the water a a waterfowl sanctuary like it was nothing. ( true story)

 

I get really annoyed by that too. In the town that I live in some people actually dump their car ashtrays in the grocery store parking lot! That is so disgusting.

 

Well, if we all were more assertive and let smokers know that we don't appreciate their litter,maybe that would help. But there will always be some idiot, self centered asshole who will do whatever, whenever. To those people I say, STAY HOME and litter and stink up your own environment. In the future educated people will not smoke. They will know better. This will be how to tell a dumbass from an intelligent person.

 

right on sista!..But we should get a petition or something to make the idiots come to their senses and at least dump that god-damned-demon in the trashcan..Like a bunch of us, whoever we are, to meet somewhere in a big city and petition with signs and stuff to annoy the goverment or at least those that smoke or something..just to like,get it noticed that we, do care about the earth..

I can't stand when I see people just throwing their cigarette butts all over the place. How hard is it to throw it away, I mean, really?

you should say something and I bet they will be so embarassed they won't do it again. I always put mine in the appropriatte place but felt horrible because yesterday i couldn't. I work with kids so if I want to smoke I sneak out and walk a few blocks and smoke behind this gate where there's railroad tracks and NO trash can and if I brought my own thing to put it in than I still wouldn't be a ble to throw it away. So I put it right near the begining of the fence so I will know where it is and can pick it up tommorow on my way in.

 

I roll my own because I can make my own weird mixes like throwing a lil spearmint etc... in. Rolling my own in public places seems to generate alot of interest and I get quite a few eye winks and people snickering..."watcha rollin there?".. Still though, I can't stand people who just chunk their butts all around. Around here though any reference to damaging the environment is often greeted with insults like f'in tree hugger, hippy pussy, etc.... and ends up in more of the same. Pretty much the only thing I've seen that worked was just banning it in certain places all together. Even though I smoke I'm all for it because I don't like looking at it either.
