    Alright!

I'm making a trip finally by car to Halifax the last week in June. I cannot wait. However, I do need to start budgetting for the trip and could really use some helpful advice and suggestions from the folks that have travelled there.

So what would YOU do on your journey to Halifax? Not sure if I will be camping somewhere - staying with family - or what out there just yet.

But I would certainly appreciate any tips from the awesome people on this site!!

    Thanks everyone!! :)

Not sure if you'll be passing by it or not, but the town of Wolfville would be pretty cool to visit. From what I hear it's a laid back town.
Was planing on moving there a while back.

Yeah, that's my dream school and I have a friend working as a TA there right now - so I'll definitely be checking it out. I'll let you know. I mean, I'll see if I can get into the law library and stuff and really check it out.

It looks like you're in Ontario so your trip is pretty much complete compared to a trip from here (Victoria). You'll miss most of Canada.

Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is good, Maritime Museum of the Atlantic sometimes has fun exhibits sometimes. Go to Lawrencetown Beach for some high breaking waves that are fun to swim in.

Almost the entire West hates Ontario at least as much as Quebec.

Hey, I'm a student in Halifax. Of the places you listed, here are the ones I like best:

    Halifax Citadel National Historic Site
    Art Gallery of Nova Scotia
Pier 21 National Historic Site of Canada
    Point Pleasant Park
Cape Breton Highlands National Park of Canada
    Peggy's Cove

While Alexander Keith's is the most celebrated beer in Halifax, it's not the best. Consider going to Propeller or Garrison instead. Propeller's Extra Special Bitter is particularly good. If you're looking for reasonably cheap food, The Ardmore Tea Room on Quinpool is one of my favourite places. Quinpool also has Greek (Mezza, It's All Greek to Me) and seafood (Phil's). If you're here on a Saturday, you might want to visit the farmer's market. It's in the old Keith's Brewery on Lower Water Street.

It's good. I'm planning on going to either Dalhousie or McGill for law school.

Victoria Park in Truro is a pretty chill' walk, with a couple water falls and shit like that.

Theres a wildlife park in stewiacke if you're up for seeing animals in cages.

I'm living in the HRM these days. Public Gardens in Halifax are quite nice for a stroll. There are lots of fishing villages just south of the city that are picturesque.

If you have time, stop into Quebec City and explore the walled city. There is nothing like this in North America... closest you will come to Europe IMHO.

I lived quite a few years in Saint John, NB and love the vibe there. The city market is the place to be on Saturday mornings.

Also, Halifax has an awesome market! It was my favourite part of spending time in the city. I forget if it's Saturday's or Sunday's, but it has a lot of unique things to see and purchase (and taste!!!).

There's an amazing music scene in Halifornia, and Live art scene too!
It's a really cool city when you really explore it. :D

btw, I might have just revived several ancient threads in my search of threads based on Halifax :p

That's okay. Yeah, of course I'd check out the music and arts scene. The plan was to do so with my two cousins and a friend out there in the Navy. But it all fell through, and I never got a chance to go...

    :'<

I might want to make plans to go to Halifax at the end of the summer though when I'm finished working.
