    Hey guys,
My name is Sam and I live in Toronto, Canada and am seeking freedom.
I need to get out of Canada and experience the world which Is what brings me here today. My first stop is australia, me and my friend are packing up what few belongings we wish and are scowering across country to Australia. We are looking for rural jobs, fruit picking, odd farm work, outdoor work in the country. If any one has a farm, or knows of a farm/orchard, etc. that needs work we'd greatly appreciate your information and help.
    Thanks again.

A lot of Canadians seeking freedom make their first stop in Australia. You'll do what you feel like doing, but my advice is to avoid the touristy spots as the main past time is lying about on a beach getting pissed and sunburnt. Get out and see the "real" Australia.

The good news about Oz, is that pay is great and finding work in orchards etc. is incredibly easy, and can be done all year round, if you know the right seasons. A good book to pick up once you get here, is "work your way around Australia" (at any bookstore). It pretty much details all the main fruit picking towns, and between what times of year the picking season/s run. It doesn't have all the info, but it will tell you where to go and when.

Also consider working in resorts in tropical Queensland from about May to September, and there is also plenty of work in ski resorts in the Australian alps around the same time. It snows a fair bit, so you won't get homesick!

I've never actually done any of this but i've heard great things about the Riverboat Bungalow in Mildura. They atmosphere is supposed to be great and they actually find work for you, and organise transportation to local farms. The picking season is from November to February but there is always other work. www.riverboatbungalow.com

Also, check out WWOOFING (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) you don't get paid for it, but it gives you free board and meals and the work is supposed to be cushy and fun. www.wwoof.com.au

Hope that helps, you'll be fine. Also, don't skip on New Zealand or SE Asia if you're around here.
