Dark Side of The What? Pink Who? The Beatles? What's all this about A Salty Aren't beetles those things that live in the dirt? Sargeant and some fancy band? Ever heard of the radio, people? I mean seriously... if you can't talk about bands that people actually know about then you should just keep it to yourselves.

I should also add that I really hope your parents are with you when you're going to these Dark Pink Pepper shows. Even though they don't like that new-fangled music of yours they'll go with you because they love you.

I prefer DSOTM. I just plain like Pink Floyd better.

I like The Beatles on occasion, and will admit that some of their songs are absolutely brilliant.. but, honestly, sometimes they're just too Beatles-y for me.

I can't say which was more well-known.. even though that was the question. Haha, I just had to stick my opinion where it didn't belong, didn't I? :)

dark side is far and away better. much more cohesive(sp?) than Sgt. Pepper. not that Sgt. Pepper is bad or anything. except for "within without you" or whatever that dumb song is called.

It all depends what group you ask. For the hippies that grew up in the 60's, they will all say Sgt. Peppers. Even most people that know Rock & Roll will also agree.

Now if you look at Billboard's top 100 selling albums, you will find that Dark Side of the Moon stayed in the top 100 every week far longer than any other album in history, it was almost 15 years straight. It missed one week then continued for a few more years before it didn't make the top 100. That Pink Floyd album crosses both genres and generations.

The point is, if you polled hippies from the 60's then Sgt. Peppers would win hands down. But if you polled everyone no matter what genre they listen to or how old they are, then Dark Side of the Moon would easily win.

All-in-all, I would have to say Dark Side of the Moon.

Definitely Dark Side of the Moon. I'm a huge Beatles fan, but I've always felt they have so many better albums than Sgt. Peppers. And Dark Side is just fantastic, still not my favorite Floyd album, but epic nonetheless.

with Sgt Pepper's, the idea of a concept album was abandoned before the relese. those are just the reminants of the concept album.

but anyway DSOTM basically changed my life, that was one of the first albums i ever heard.

but i would definatly say that Sgt. Pepper's is musically a much better albums. If i had to vote it would be Sgt. Peppers, despite how close DSOTM is to my heart

As a huge Beatles fan, I hate to admit it, but Pink Floyd's album is generally more well-known. I've seen and heard of it much more often than I have Sgt. Pepper's. But, alas, what can you do?

Ya you're right, Sgt. Peppers drum solo thing is way better. O wait, it doesn't have one! To make a good album, you need to have some sort of drum solo. Don't quote me on that.

I gotta give it to Floyd. They are not highly trained musicians. When your stoned and got the headphones on lying on your bed and Great Gig In The Sky is blowing your mind , You'll understand.

    ooh, Kate!~good question! =]

popularity-wise, Dark Side. music-wise, i must say.....i can't listen to Dark Side all the way through. nope. so Sgt. Pepper's! hehe.

i loooooooooooooooooooooove the Beatles, and Pink Floyd? not so much. a few songs, but they don't hold a candle to the fab four in my book.
