Yup, we've now reached that grim milestone.

How many more will it take till there's been enough bloodshed?

This fucking war is absurd and pointless.

    And Americans still accept it.

Candidates, Oil companies, mercenaries want it to continue.

    Blood = $Money$

    Have YOU HAD ENOUGH YET?

What are you going to do about it?

Yeah, but let's also not forget the innocent Iraqi lives lost, which is just staggering.

And along with the 4,000 US troops dead, there are tens of thousands more who are maimed for life and are being completely ignored by the country they were duped into believing they were serving.

We are gonna be there for at least about year from 2009 so that totally will raise. I just can't believe we have a nominee that wants to actually stay there and gun it out. Anyone losing hope that we will walk away from this in our lifetime?

Not just one nominee. I don't think Hillary or Obama with get us out quickly either. I lost hope when Bush was reelected.

I don't think Hillary or Obama with get us out quickly either.

IIRC, one of the anti-war retired generals said that it would take a year or two if we withdrew as quickly as could be done, mainly due to the hundreds of millions of tons of equipment that would have to be moved.

A vote for McCain, of course, is a vote for war with Iran.

Well, I have gone to protests, signed petitions, I write letters to the editor, and I vote.

Unfortunately I can't really do anything more to help stop the war as I have other obligations. But I wish those involved all the best.

"There's no such thing as progress man. There's only change. You dig a whole in the ground and you build up a city and you fight a war and you call it progress? ...what it boils down to is just one thing. As long as there's hate in your heart, there'll be hate in the world, dig? You can't fight for peace and you cannot capture freedom and it's just a simple little old thing man, that any little baby could figure out if we didn't put cancer in his mind." -Charlie

I like Gravel, but the Libertarians are not at all happy with his switch, as they seem to consider him to be a hardcore leftist.

agreed. Its sad that not more Americans can see or understand the truth; that we're in a war for oil and money, and its costing human lives.

Very true. Sad case for our society.

Unfortunately, most Americans nowadays are no better than an unthinking mass of sheeple, brainwashed with a false sense of patriotism, programmed to obey, in the name of "God, country, president."
Actually, not a very intelligent way to respond to a rapidly changing world.

And to understand what's wrong with society, one must step outside of society, to be able to look at it objectively with clarity, see what's wrong with it, and how we can change it.

"So what's ten million dead, if it's keeping out the Russians?!"-Dead Kennedys

They don't give a shit about the lives being lost. Everyone knows that, right? I'd think so..

A lot of people say that Americans don't know about the whole oil, money, profit thing, and I thought that too about my family, but it's surprising what comes out when you sit down and talk to them. I think we all know, but most just choose to ignore it. Just the American thing to do, right?

With people like Bill o'Reilly pulling on the ears of so many people in America, it's no wonder that people are becoming conditioned to think in such a way as to only worsen our problems.
