I have 2 10 day old seedlings and 4 seeds i just planted. they're all in a mixture of topsoil and compost in little biodegradable cardboard things with about 3-4 cubic inches of dirt. i plan on moving them outside when they are large enough and the weather is nice enough. have they got enough space for a few more weeks inside (by my window)? i'm planting them in a discreet little clearing behind my back fence, though sunlight could be a bit of an issue there. i was planning on lining the fence behind them with tin foil to reflect some back. how much light do they need to reach maturity? are there any other things i should worry about?
the first thing I would consider would be strain. Some strains can get quite tall when grown outside. The second thing I would consider is fence height. If you are planting behind the fence for security, you may have issues if your plant grows taller than the fence, which is entirely possible with any strain containing sativa genetics.
I would avoid using tin foil or anything that may attract attention. Spread them out among other plants for camo and pinch of the top node (eventually to encourage a bush rather than a tree. As the branches grow longer you can tie them down to keep a low profile. Unless you are in the sticks avoid visiting the girls very often. If I was to attempt a small outdoor grow I would grow them indoors, take clones, as soon as the clones are rooted begin a 12/12 light cycle to sex the plants. Then the female mothers can either be further cloned for planting or planted themselves. Be aware that everyone knows what the plant looks like and will either steal them or call the cops.
Don't be ignorant ^ if you are going to grow. Continue to think as you do and you are a bust waiting to happen. Growing on your own property can be one of the riskiest things one can do. Remember the word "seizure".
