Question about Bubbler

I thinking about getting a small bong, but I would have to hide it and anything smoke related has to be discreet, so I thought a bubbler would be perfect.

Most of my smoking is done with my pipe, but I need something easier on the throat. Haven't used a bubbler before. Does that one look okay? Can someone give me tips on filling and emptying water? Anything I should know?

Looks like a good deal if you don't get charged too much on the shipping. I have ordered from them before and their pieces are thick and solid. It will be easier on the throat and filling it up is as easy as running it under the tap in any hole until it's a little less than halfway full up the internal downstem. If you only smoke occasionally then you might as well empty and rinse it out every so often you use it. As for maintenance, all you have to do really is run it under hot water to clean out some of the resin from time to time (do this over a container of some sort since the resin will dirty up your sink real bad plus you wouldn't want your pipes to get clogged or for the smell to come up).

to fill it: put water from a cup or bottle into your mouth and put your mouth on the mouth piece (where you'll smoke from). push the water from your mouth into the pipe until its half full. this way you dont have to get the bowl wet, making you have to dry it before you pack it.

 

Yeah, I have found filling it with a little water coming out of the sink through the carb works best, I never though of the above method of spitting water in, but I would only do that if I was the only one smoking as someone elses spit kinda disgusts me. you can fill it through the bowl if necessary, which is something I do when out and about with no sink. Filling them on the go can be difficult and I think a mini bong might be easier to fill on the go in some ways, however, bongs are not NEAR as portable and it would need more water. If you fill the bubbler from the bowl, and want it dry, act as if you are smoking from it and "burn" the water to evaporate it. Rinse it out from time to time, and you'll be fine.

 

no spit should enter the pipe, you pour water into your mouth and then pour it into the pipe, no spitting involved. this also works well when the pipe gets dirty and makes it hard to see how much water is inside the pipe because of all the res build up. after doing in a bunch of times you will realize how much water to put in your mouth to put in the pipe, like a medium sized sip.. if you catch my drift..

 

This method still sound slike backwashing to me. I fill mine through the carb, and, if you're careful, you can keep the bowl dry. I've actually filled by bubbler with a fresh bowl already packed. I realized it was empty and just went through the carb.

Incidentally, if the bowl is wet, the easiest way I've found to dry itis to hold the lighter to the bowl for a fewseconds.

to the OP, that bubbler looks fine. Sherlock styles are nice because you are less likely to suck water into your mouth, but they are more tippy than hammers.

looks raw, i was thinking of getting that, but i will definitely buy off them, but how much was shipping? how long did it take, and were happy with going with them, and last what kind of box did it come in?

I ordered this on a monday night, it arrived saturday. The box it comes in is just a simple, very small, rectangular brown box. Just has the shipping address and return address which is listed as C.G.P. Very discreet.

It was packaged very well; double bubble wrapped and stuffed with that foam crap.

I ordered from them before so I knew what I was getting. No complaints, good service.

i'm pretty happy with it. it's kinda weird filling water, i just cover the bowl with my thumb and pour it through the carb. (never used a bubbler) Since it's not see through you have to hold it up to a light and shake it alittle to see how filled it is.

it's well made, very thick glass. that to me was the most important.

 

You can fill it everytime and keep it dry without having to spit in the bubbler. All you have to do is take water put it in a cup or bottle. Cover the bowl with your thumb and place your mouth on the mouthpiece. Then tip the cup/bottle of water till its about to spill out and place it up to the carb. Suck on the end of the mouthpeice and it should start sucking water in through the carb. Stop sucking when theres enough water in there. I've been meaning to post a video of this but if my directions arent clear enough just let me know Ill gladly try to explain them better.

 

lol i dont see why no one wants to spit water into their bubbler, everyone around here thinks thats the "proper" way to fill it. not saying it is, but its the only way to fill it without having to get the bowl wet, spill water, try to get it through the carb hole, etc.. just my 2 cents.

 

If i'm by myself thats no problem but other people might find that uncomfortable lol

 

my way works well and doesnt get any thing wet either. Plus no water goes in your mouth

 

how is this uncomfortable? lol your not actually spitting into the pipe, your just putting the water into your mouth then into the pipe. after that, the water will never touch your mouth again, whats wrong with that? iv done it infront of people iv never met and havnt gotten any negative remarks..
