I'm going to try and make the best I've ever made... it needs to be... very worthy. I'm doing a tribute to someone. I want to put photos, captions, and lots of writing on it.... What is the best free host to use... I don't know a whole lot about design.
im not sure about any good free hosts, but hippy.com has free websites doesn't it? and definantly learn about design, its very important, more so than various web technologies. a well designed website in plain html can look damn nice.
All the ISP's I have been with offer 10mb of web space.I suggest that you go to the home page of your ISP and have a look around and contact them if you cannot find anything. Yahoo offers free web space but at the cost of having drop down adverts on your site. With Yahoo you don't even need an FTP program.I think Yahoo even give you some web site building programs. What is the operating system of your PC? It might even have a web site editor. It might already have an FTP program for uploading. If you are going to put any large images on the site, do not put them straight on main page.Instead create a thumbnail image and link to a seperate image with a warning.
freewebs.com has great design templates, and they make it easy for you to organize everything, add new paragraphs in different fonts and colors, insert imagines and links, etc.. definitely worth a look
This site free-wehost.com may be of some use. I have used the hipforums free web hosting, and it's not that bad, there is some limiting factores such as space (important if your lookin to up al lot pictures) and also the lack of image linking. also i recomend you learn html, free site templates are nice and all, but you tend up end up with a very cookie cutter site, that you have very little control over.. This site is great for learning the basics of html and also some more advanced stuff as well, it's where i got my start. Also don't overlook CSS it can make changing the look and feel of your site around alot easier... Hope some of this helped ~peace~
FREEWEBS!FREEWEBS!FREEWEBS!!! It's got the most free webspace from all the hosts I know (40 MB, most have 5-20MB). You can do ANYTHING on it, it's secure, has great templates, you don't really need HTML knowledge (except for little extras which you can just add in) and is overall great for starters. Heck, I've got a site. Freewebs' site: http://www.freewebs.com Good luck ^^ Th
