My friend's friend (he's a mutual friend, pretty nice kid) got busted on monday... cop pulled him over for expired tags, searched, found his dad's grinder in the trunk with a tiny little bit of fresh herb on it... then they hunted his carpet... possession and paraphernalia... They can't prove it was his weed either, but he's pretty much fucked... Damn pigs... Illegal Search And Seizure, methinks. I hope he disputes it. So, there went one of my sources... my friend still buys though, and he and I are considering buying a dime this weekend for my first smoke.
How the hell does that automatically give them the right to search a vehicle? goddamn cops... I have respect for them, but they should be out rounding up the meth heads and the smack dealers and the coke heads... They should be after people selling and using dangerous drugs, and people who are on drugs that make them violent (like PCP or Crack) instead of we the peaceful friends of the herb.
I wonder if your buddy didn't tell you the complete story. Getting pulled over for expired tags is fine. But what prompted them to search? Was there an odor of that sweet sweet mary jane is the air? Did he consent to the search? Does he have a rep with the local fuzz? Red eyes? Silly Grin? Even though it was not his herb - by being in possession of the vehicle it might as well be his. Regarding the meth and crack and cops - alot of them want to survive and go for the easy bust. They do have quotas to fill. But knowing what they do and still putting yourself at risk by toking and driving means no bitching about it. You roll the dice and accept the consequences. I am sure that your bud will be fine, certainly if it was his pop's stash.
