yeah, i have read stuff about crop circles and math. it was something about the radii of the circle being in a harmonic sequence (or was it the fibonacci sequence?) But this is not sufficient evidence of alien interference, as anybody with enough experience in math could have created such circles.
hum it seems that maths inherent beauty has crossed paths with the mischief of the left brained artist. i mean these guys plan out something pretty nievely using complex math mathmatical ideas and expressions the whole while. Leonardo DaVinci would tell us how close math and art were. Well maybe he wouldn't I think i read somewhere he was sort of a prick!!!!
Hey ol' hippie, go to the links, there are crop squares there. Leonardo would be impressed with my bic lighter. Maybe the guy that planned and executed the construction of the Great Pyramid might know.
i think math looks aesthetically pleasing because mathematical patterns are hard-wired into our brains, and are present in the evolutionarilly basic core of our brain (much like desire for food or sex), therefore there is a sense of gratification that can be derived from looking at a mathematically rendered piece of artwork. If you doubt me, check out some fractal animations. They're trippy!!!
yep, the golden ratio. God's Favorite number. oddly, this number is not present in the Bible (or any other scripture for that matter)
who cares if its highschool kids, aliens or natural phenomina, as long as its ok with the farmer, they look cool! =^^= .../\...
but it is present in each of our fingers, being the ratio of the length of each segment to the next longer one. 1/1.6180339
and many other places. like the ratio of the length across the forehead to the length from the forehead to the chin.
Funny it is like 3 halves of one. maybe that can have some trinity meaning if you reach far enough. I mean to God what is a few repeating decimal places?
actually there is a scriputural reference for pi- A quote from the trinity foundation however, the indiana state legislature declared pi to be 3.2. They almost passed the bill, but a math proffesor fom purdue university stopped that from happening
Therefore, Indiana (and probably all of the US) should be forever indebted to The Purdue University Math Department (i know i am)
