What is the best way to start a seed? Germinate or automatically put them into the dirt. How do you all germinate?
From what I learned in 1st grade, I'd say put the seeds in a ziploc bag on a wet paper towel and give it a few days until the sprout has a pretty large root, then transplant. I know nothing about growing MJ (though I'd like to learn) so if you have a limited supply of seeds I wouldn't take my advice.
If they sink it's good, some float, but after a day they should all sink. I found the best way is a paper towel folded up, a small bowl with about two inches of water in it. wrap the seeds in the towel so the will be above the water line in the bowl. The towel will wick up all the water it needs and the seeds don't drown from too much water.
wot i did wen growin mine is put them between 2 damp sponges, put the sponges in a ziplock bag and blow in it. Then store it sum were nice and warm. my seeds germinated all within 48-36 hours
I do it the way mother nature has done it for millions of years and have never had any problems. Why people want to throw so many unneeded steps into something so simple is beyond me.
Floweredgreen, the reason to throw in the extra steps for something so simple is simple;increased germination rates. In know way can placing seeds in soil to sprout the natural way come close to the percentages of seeds that germinate with the extra step method.
hmm only one of them really germinated but I planted about 10 seeds hope the rest germinate in the pots!!! MMM i cant wait till the plants erect I will be soo releived. Another question. What should good healthy seeds look like?
