i love "ethnic" cookbooks. a few of my favorites: http://www.amazon.com/Madhur-Jaffre...bs_sr_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1206578392&sr=8-4 (the chicken pieces i make are based largely on a recipe in this book...theres also an AMAZING recipe for stir fried cabbage, as well as instructions on making mango lhassi) http://www.amazon.com/Memories-Cuba...bs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1206578643&sr=1-1 i've sadly only made two or three things from this, but its great none the less http://www.amazon.com/Soul-New-Cuis...=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1206578729&sr=1-2 of course, i have tons of other cook books, mostly non "ethnic," but these are some of my favorite resources when i have money to spend on good ingredients
almost halfway through the cooking time. i added a bunch more cheese on top after taking the pic. these are going to be great
Filipino food is excellent. My ex, she wasn't really very in touch with her roots i thought, but she could cook up some really excellent chicken in peanut sauce and man it was awesome. Everything had a lot of flavor.
When I cook, I tend to leave the room and forget about whatever it was that I was cooking. Then it gets burnt and I have a microwavable dinner. Then I remember you shouldn't put foil in the microwave and blow it up. Then I make toast and go to scrape some toast that got stuck in the toaster with a fork. My dad slaps my hand away and lectures me. I remember that forks dont belong in the toaster. Dad retrieve's the toast, I spread vegemite on it, and that's my dinner.
