I'm looking for something rare as a unicorn...a place in warm weather climes; isolated, quiet, and under $400 bucks a month. Florida, The Gulf Coast, the south Atlantic coast, all would be fine. Spent the '60's on the West Coast playing folk clubs and bars which should establish my hippie bona fides. I'm now 63, single, retired on a fixed income, had a 30-year career in L.A. as a recording engineer. Have done a lot of writing, play folk/bluegrass guitar, relatively handy around the house. Made some money over the years, spent it as fast as it came in but no regrets there. Love seafood, beer, reading, playing music, smoking the occasional doobie, politically to the left. Can generally carry on a relatively intelligent conversation. Not much into material stuff: have an old dog, an old car and an old guitar. If anyone out there knows of something that might fit I'd be grateful for the info. Am willing to work (within reason) to get what I want. I'm long past the "it's a groovy universe out there" phase but still retain a certain amount of optimism. Looking forward to hearing from someone...regardless, best of luck to all.
Hi Old Folkie, wow, reading your letter was like reading something I'd written about myself lol. But seriously, I have almost exactly what you are looking for, with the slight difference lol. I'm in Australia, if you would like to chat about it, which I reckon I sure would, you can send me an email . cheers Hippymuso from Oz.
Hi Old folkie, now that (hopefully) you have my email addy, I have just deleted it. Maybe I should explain, you must think I'm a total wierdo lol I live on 4 acres in the bush in Oz (Australia). I own my land. There is enough space here to put 6 -8 like minded people. For many years I have been trying to establish a small commune of musicians. No luck so far, but who knows. This place one day will be a haven for native animals and birds and a musical village. So don't think I'm nuts, just honest, cheers Hippymuso from Oz.
Hi, hippymuso I just sent you an email. Plus I sent one previously. When I didn't hear from you I didn't continue the correspondence. Just in case, please accept my apology for not getting back to you.
