Hi everyone I've been wondering lately, when someone kills themselves, if where they end up or what they have to work out is different then if they died naturally. Do you think they hang around in this world for longer, or something else? What are your thoughts on this?
I don't believe in ghosts. I believe in an afterlife, though. I believe that all suicidal people go to hell. (Unless there's a situation where, say, someone pushes another person out of the say of a subway and dies. That's a one way ticket to heaven in my opinion)
Yeah, that's not really what i meant by where someone ends up. I don't believe in hell either. Does anyone else have any thoughts on the original post?
You do realize that people who commit suicide are usually mentally ill? Why would a person be punished for having an illness?
can't you have any story you want about after-life ? there's all kinds of ways to make a story to fit the death experience . don't we have just two experiences ? either we have some feeling about someone gone , or there's the near-death experience . maybe there's not much to really know from either of these because people usually say they are momentary or else dream-like . how's a suicide bomber do it ? goes off to the war downtown with more than a bomb - also carries a story of glory about the after-life . so of two enemy peoples , whose god is it that directs the fate of the dead ? peace . there's just some story-making to do ? stories do hold the little bits we know . it's how we can preserve them , then sometimes a good-enough story becomes traditional . we think with stories . some stories though should burn in hell . i've got disgusted and burned a few books dead ... one was a suicide
Suicide is not always caused by mental illness, and I also don't believe in hell. I believe that people who just give up in this life (not the mentally ill or spiritually weary, but those who just want to be stubborn in this lifetime and not fullfill what they set out to accomplish before coming here- predestination in other words...) are shot right back into life again, not given a chance to recuperate. People who commit suicide otherwise, go back into "orientation" and stay longer.... needing to repair themselves and assess thier lives a little more deeply. This is taken from the teachings/ideas of Sylvia Browne and Dr. Michael Newton. They seem the most likely for how I beleive.
I think that alot of intellectual people who overcome the fear of death are more easily to cross the border between life and death.
My beliefs about the afterlife is that how one dies, and whether it was his choice or not, has no bearing on where he goes and what happens to him. I think we all just get re-absorbed into the spiritual essence of the universe (God), like rain drops into the sea.
i believe they come back here to earth until they work through the issues and solve things. but suicide or not, i think most people die with pretty big issues anyway and will return here. still, not matter how many replies you get to this postyou will still be left wondering. you must find the truth for yourself (no i do not mean commiting suicide)
