    OPPOSITE EFFECT FROM OPIATES???

Hello sweet loves, I've been reading threads for a couple weeks, and have been amazed by the utter unity I feel from reading simalar experiences and feelings with you all...and have laughed numerous times by the sheer wit and humor so many of you display ! Lots of love & respect here, realllly impressed.. So this is my first post= Ok, I got hooked on opies a lil over ago, , ex boyfriend/ ex junkie got me into em..It's been quite the journey, all in all I've grown so much from opiates and it's done wonders for my singing, writing and playing guitar..the worst part is finding the damn things when you are dope sick and dopamine deprived.. My question is -- Why do I get full of energy, become a chatter box, want to make lists and improve things..Almost speedy ?? I've heard from some it is a depressant, and from others its actually a stimulant too...wha ??
Most people say they nod off or just straight up chill, not me ! The nodding thing only happens if I take opes when I'm exhausted, OR if I m em with E-
Even if I take 1 norco on E I am nodding like a mofo(btw I don't reccommend mixing opes with E- I usually throw up from it, does not mix chemically well, I think? And I don't think it's safe, please don't try it !!)

Please explain to me why they make me feel intense energy and intensify ALL my emotions..the love and good things of course, but even the bad stuff- I will over react and get annoyed by things that normally wouldn't annoy/anger me as much when I'm sober..I get sooo defensive..

Please give me your 2 cents, and explain why I am a ball of energy, not a nodder. :) Thanks guys !

    Hey RainbowChick, welcome home! :)

I wanted to let you know that I also get excitable when I eat opiates, especially in small doses or if I'm not already tired to begin with.. I'm not sure why this is, but I get it with certain pills more than others, like methadone for instance. If I eat anywhere between 5-15 mg I'll get bursts of energy and feel like organizing, cleaning, making lists, etc... but if I take much more than that I start nodding off or get lethargic, the classic opiate high. So basically I think it has to do with the dosage. I prefer the small dose myself; I love that energetic buzz, but the problem is tolerance.. so it's good to take breaks between opiate use. (Harder said than done I know!!!) If I have access to pills I have a hard time NOT eating them... But the buzz is wayyy better if you can enjoy a small amount, IMO.

Oh and I'd love to take some E right now.
It's been a long time since I've had any decent pressies!

    LOVIN YOU~

Hey Adamist ! Thank you for the great welcome:)
Right ! I was gonna mention, Methodone gives me the most energy ! love that shit, need to get back on it, I tend to be more productive on it than real opiates, which make me just mess around and wallow in my creativity...I tried to get off Done though, took it for 2 months, and got down to 2.5 milligrams a day, but couldn't seem to get lower than that.. Ev says Done withdrawals or a serious bitch - worse than reg. opiate withdrwals- IDK, they are both hell getting off of..
I think you are right about the amount thing-I was thinking that too..Haha glad you know what I'm talking about, thanks again dude !* I said no to drugs but they didn't listen..LOL*

Oh, and yeah- the addiction tolerance is the only bad thing- And yeah I know I haven't rolled since Dec. 17...Like you said, decent presses= haven't been presenting themselves to me... LOVIN YOU back sir :)

First off, welcome to the forum RainbowChick66.

I don't think you're referring to a paradoxical reaction to opiates. You're probably doing stuff better and with more energy simply because you feel better than you did (i.e., euphoria, lack of minor pains, elevated mood, etc.). Hydrocodone (lortabs, vicodin, lorcets, etc.) in relatively small doses give plenty of folks a speedy buzz. I like to call it the 'working man's (and women's) opiate.

Any opiate, when taking a large enough dose can cause lethargy and the 'nodding' that folks talk about. While it can be quite relaxing, I consider going to sleep a total waste when I'm enjoying my euphoria. I want it to last as long as possible, and I want to be awake for it.

    Enjoy...be safe and responsible.

hydrocodone and oxycodone are semisynthetic opiates derived from thebaine, which is an naturally occuring alkaloid in the opium poppy. Thebaine is a stimulant, and doesnt act the same way as morphine and codeine. hydro and oxy have a stimulating effect on some people.

Despite what people think...I deffinitely get energy from opiates. Most people think of heroin users and sleepin all day and fugged up. Which happens when I use all day. But I get an incredible rush of energy from smack. Ill be out mowin the lawn doin dishes talkin to everyone. Even talkin on the phone is great on opiates (which i usually hate). I wanna fix the world when im smacked up lol...Take it ez and respect the opiates. Peaz. -J
