Has anyone taken this? It says it contains hydrocodone.. or is this a different type? And how safe are the other chemicals in this..

    The ingredients in it are:

    dexbrompheniramine maleate
    hydrocodone bitartrate

    phenylephrine hydrochloride

Turns out I actually have the Generic brand which is this:

Cytuss HC: Phenylephrine hydrochloride 5 mg, hydrocodone bitartrate 2.5 mg, and chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg per 5 mL (480 mL) [peach flavor]

So how much should I take, I'm guessing 20 mL for 10mg hydrocodone? Would this cause any problems with the other chemicals in mind?

    phenylephrine is a decongestant.
    chlorpheniramine is a antihistamine.

The side effect of phenylephrine is hypertension. increased blood pressure, dilated pupils. large dosages of chlorpheniramine can cause increased heart rate, lack of coordination, seizures, and coma. one of the side effects of hydrocodone is irregular or depressed respiration...

chlorpheniramine is also usually found in some DXM products... which is another reason why stupid kids die, cuz they dont read the ingredients.

idk if u should... wait for more replies.

Google is your friend, and so is bluelight.

    Go read this thread LINK

Your answer is somewhere in here...
    Histinex® HC ( C-III), Ethex
    Histussin® HC Syrup ( C-III), Sanofi-Aventis
Hydrocodone CP Syrup ( C-III), Morton Grove Pharmaceuticals
KG-Dal® HD Plus Syrup ( C-III; with methylparaben and propylene glycol), King
    Tuss-HC® ( C-III), Seatrace
    2.5 mg/5 mL with Chlorpheniramine Maleate 2 mg/5 mL and Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride 30 mg/5 mL Hyphed® Syrup ( C-III; with alcohol 5[IMG], Cypress
KG-Tussin® Syrup ( C-III; with alcohol 5%, parabens, and propylene glycol), King
    P-V-Tussin® Syrup ( C-III), Numark

High doses of Chlorpheniramine Maleate (CPM) can cause severe and life-threatening symptoms including seizures; shortness of breath or troubled breathing; weakness; loss of consciousness; severe dryness of mouth, nose, or throat; bleeding from skin, mouth, eyes, rectum, and vagina; and possibly death.
We have seen recommendations that no more than 24 mg of CPM be taken in a day.

Sorry for the triple post...but rumor has it, that it's 5mg hydro per 10mL. or about 2.5mg of hydrocodone per teaspoon(5mL)

Thank you for the info, google turned up nothing of value for me, that helps a lot.

That worries me about the CPM, would the dose be high enough in the amount i'd have to take to cause damage though?

I thought it didn't have CPM after reading that for some reason
