She tried her debit card last night and it didn't work, so she checked her account online today, and there was 1200$ in charges all in Acapulco Mexico, buying things like liquor, BBQ Ribs, and stuff at Wal Mart. Its spring break, and we are 99% sure its fucking OSU college students, and we think someone from this pizza place sold her card info to someone. As she was talking to her bank the people tried to use it twice....so hopefully those motherfuckers will get arrested down there, and spend the night in Mexican jail. If not, I hope I get to attack them with a hammer or at least sit in court as they get sentenced. I gots no respect for them
omg...that is so scary... I hope they get assraped by large mexicans in prison... Did you hear about the guy who had half his stuff stolen because someone put up a craig's list ad saying his house was abandoned and all his stuff was free to take? Holy shit.
im hoping someone steals my identity and gets stuck with my debt hell my identity is so worthless id give it away to whoever will take it
that is fucking insane and now i'm a little paranoid but um yeah g, tell your girl i'm sorry and i'll pay her back for the tequila.....:& actually you'd be surprised at the things you can destroy with a hammer, watching you attack them with a hammer would be quite amusing you could probably film that and sell it to make the money up for your girl
She will have to pay something, we are thinking just like 50 bucks, but we really don't know yet. I looked at her printout of all the transactions, I mean they did probably 10 or more. I know they are on surveillance tape somewhere, but I guess its up to the credit card company to pursue it or not. We do have to file a police report, and we are going to mention we think its that pizza place. I feel like going in and threatening them. Fucking college students, they almost ruin this town, rioting...raping, being annoying dickheads.
first i would find out EXACTLY who these punks were...then me and my friend G would say hi to them with mr .357 magnum...and then mr ak-47 would have a talk with them as well...well not so much them as with their cars and their houses...
Actually, there are lucrative organized crime associations that threaten people who work at establishments, such as your suspected pizza place, and they threaten these people that work there to install a scanner that codes the information of a credit card on their POS terminals whenever someone has swiped their credit card. They threaten to hurt their families, rape their wives, kidnap their loved ones, etc. if they don't install these fraud pieces to their machines. It happened to my sister when she filled up at a gas station, and was charged $120 for gas in Lebanon. Only, her credit card stopped the transaction before it was actually charged. You want to make sure that your credit cards are going to prevent any of this type of activity, and even though your GF probably wasn't banking with CitiBank, I would suggest that she contact them, ask to speak with someone from the FEW (Fraud Early Warning) department - as they have a very tip-top identity thief solutions unit that helps anyone out with problems like this, no matter if you are banking with them or not. I'm sure she has contacted her financial institutions, but now she will have to sign an affidavit if those charges went through and the bank cannot reverse them. Good luck.
Funny you should mention this. This happened to my dad just two days ago. He was checking his account information online, and he saw that $500 was withdrawn from his account. Anyway, here is what happened. Lots of people were affected by this. http://www.whec.com/article/stories/S394444.shtml?cat=566 (There's a video that goes with the article, too.)
Sorry to hear about that G. I personally think that theft is one of the most annoying fucking crimes. If and when you do find out who the litttle pricks are, use the claw hammer to remove a tooth for each transaction they made. At least the insurance will insyure your girl gets most of the money back. Still, that shit sucks.
sorry to hear, thats nothin but a fucking pain to deal with. just recently someone i know had $5,000 stolen from saudi arabia put on his credit card. i forget what it was that was bought though. its crazy, and sad to hear, how many people these days that are getting there identity stolen. its a problem that is growing at an alarming rate. my money is in my bank. plan your shit out and withdraw cash. i dont seem to know anyone that uses cash anymore. i hope people realize that your giving much personal information when those pieces of plastic get scanned. shit i need food for the week, i go to the bank and get cash. i know im going to a bar with some friends on a friday night, i make sure i have cash. a friend of mine and myself are the only people i know that pays cash for damn near everything. sometimes i dont have a choice due to certain circumstances, so i will have to use my debit. its rare when a someone asks for my pin number. none the less i enjoy knowing that less "people" know what i buy and have my information for there "credit".
that skimming article was pretty eye opening. It very well could have been that. What a wake up, guess I will stick to using atms at actual banks to try to lessen the threat. This actually sounds more plausible than just stealing the number, because it had to be a pretty high tech system to create a new magnetic strip, at least as far as I know. I agree that cash is best Seems they have put most if not all of the money back into her account and yes, apparantly wal marts are down there too. We also looked up one swank Japanese restaurant online where they spent 300 bucks....looked nice
