Time is FUCKED UP. It doesnt even exist. But think about it: We set our watches and clocks from other watches and clocks. Everytime we do, the seconds are off. Let's say I set my digital alarm clock, to my watch, which was 6:48:34. On digital clocks, the seconds don't show, and if my watch was digital it wouldn't show either. But I'd set my alarm clock to 6:48, and it would be 34 seconds off of regular time. So I get a new watch and decide to set it to my alarm clock. Let's say the digital alarm clock is precisely 3:03:43 when I set my watch. Again, I would set it to only the hour and minutes, 3:03. BUT, since my alarm clock was 34 seconds off in the first place, and it was 43 seconds past 3:03, my watch would be 77 seconds off! That's 1:17 seconds off! Imagine, this keeps going. I live in Michigan, BUT the same thing is occuring in EVERY other part of America, as well as the whole world. It's hard to comprehend, but at a slow pace, time travels. You wouldn't know it, but if you live anywhere, and travel North, or for this matter ANY DIRECTION, within 30 minutes of where you are, time could be altered 5 minutes. I mean, since physical time was INVENTED, like the 1300's, earlier? Who knows..but when it was first invented, there were no phones to tell the exact time like there are today. There were only simple watches and clocks, and people set the time based upon other people's watches and clocks. Over YEARS, time can be altered so fast that we could be living in a different DAY than it was 300 years ago! Weird..and to think I thought of this when I was stoned.. And I really have no idea if anyone has thought of this, but if they have, shame on me...
Have you tried better synchronizing your clocks? For something that doesn't exist, we certainly are good at quantifying it. The atomic second can be realized to a higher accuracy than any other unit.
how does time not exist? and to be living a different day than 300 years ago. whats wrong with that? didn't we use the sun to tell time? i dont even look at the clock most of the day. and if i do i dont care if its a few min/sec off, it can be 15 min away from being 6. to me its already 6. time has always been, how can life be without time...
Im having the time of my life. What time am I having? And what does it have to do with you? or Your time.?
I dont comprehend it either. But according to physics boffins there is no time and there is no space, there is only space/time. They exist as a pair and to comprehend it u must understand the space/time relationship. Also it appears that time isn't linear, ie past doesn't precede the present and the present doesn't necessarily precede thefuture. All you can directly perceive it the moment you are in. also time according to some is meant to be spiral, not linear and some points interject other points. Also time exists at every space in the universe and like wise every space in the universe exists at every time simultaneously. hope this clears it up for u? i am confused as hell and my brain is dribbling out my nose trying to understand hehe. Some quotes:- The time of internal Einstein. The theory of relativity introduced a new upheaval, the transformation of space into time, or the "spatialization" of time (time and space being equivalents). Henceforth we can speak only of a "space-time continuum." For relativists time does not "pass" and matter is unfolded in both its "temporal thickness" and its "spatial span"--which means that time, like space, is an actual span. We can no longer refer to a "universal time" and an "absolute space." The properties of space-time depend on the speed at which a moving object travels, and at speeds approaching the speed of internal light, space-time "contracts" around the moving object. But the time of relativity, like that of classical physics, remains reversible. "Have you guessed the riddle yet?" the Hatter said, turning to Alice again. "No, I give up," Alice replied. "What's the answer?" "I haven't the slightest idea," said the Hatter. "Nor I," said the March Hare. Alice sighed wearily. "I think you might do something better with the time," she said, "then wasting it in asking riddles that have no answers." "If you knew Time as well as I do," said the Hatter, "you wouldn't talk about wasting 'it'. It's 'him'." "I don't know what you mean," said Alice. "Of course you don't!" the Hatter said, tossing his head contemptuously. "I daresay you never even spoke to Time!" "Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid." - Frank Zappa Eternity is in love with the productions of time. internal - William Blake I must create a system or be enslaved by another man's; I will not reason and compare: my business is to create. William Blake To see a world in a grain of sand And a heaven in a wild flower, Hold internal infinity in the palm of your hand And eternity in an hour. William Blake If the doors of internal perception were to be cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, internal infinite William Blake "time is the moving image of eternity..." - Plato All of biology is, in a sense, a conquest of dimensionality. That means that animals are a strategy for conquering space/time. Complex animals do it better than simpler animals, we do it better than any complex animal, and we twentieth century people do it better than any people in any previous century because we combine data in so many ways that they couldn't -- electronically, on film, on tape, and so forth. So, the progress of organic life is deeper and deeper into internal dimensional conquest. From that point of view , the internal shaman begins to look like the advance guard of a new kind of human being, a human being that is as advanced over where we are as we are advanced over people a million years ago. - internal Terence McKenna
Don't think linearly....time is non-existent....nature is cyclical, so can not be measured in "time", but we can reckon time for our own purposes....but as a fatalist I konw that time is only this right now.
I use to think time didn't exist, but oooh was I wrong. Time is just malleable and doesn't really take a definite forum. It overlaps and intertwines with different timelines, you can be experiencing like 2 worlds at the same time. Time is the 4th dimension, but it's power is misunderstood.
Everyone's clocks may be wrong. But we can use the sun to tell time with sundials and that can't be wrong, right?
Right, there can be synchroncity errors in the setting of a clock, but those errors are measurable against atomic standards. And before atomic standards, people used apparent noon. It was more than people setting "time based on other people's watches and clocks." Timekeeping devices were corrected to match up with apparent noon. So no days have been lost or gained due to time keeping errors; time keeping has always been adjusted to the solar day.
i usually sync to the time thats on my computer... its connected to a server that im sure almost everyone is connected to. when i ask in a chatroom, they're usually dead on with the time i got because there using the time on the computer. and these are people from like the other side of the planet.
Anybody that has taken a hallucinogen will realize there is something wrong with our normal understanding of time. And it is certainly not just because you are off your head on shrooooms or something, somethings you can see more clearly while tryping. William Blake "If the doors of internal perception were to be cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, infinite"
To me, is just a measure of the sun, the moon, and the stars. Time cannot exist without space or matter-energy.
