three early john waters' movies: "pink flamingos," "female trouble," "desperate living." the great classic surreal movie "un chien andalou." the best movie ever made about politics at it's most basic nature red in tooth and claw level "caligual." based on the novel by gore vidal. make sure you get the complete, unedited, and unrated edition. very, very, sick and twisted indeed! you'll just love them all!

i don't know what i just saw... but, I'M QUITE SURE I LIKE IT! i got these 2 dvds in the mail satuarday from netflix. both of these movies, are by the russian director andrey iskanov. the first one is entitled "visions of suffering," the second one is entitled "nails." really, really, strange surreal shit! there is no doubt that iskanov is an artist. i would most highly recommend that none of you be tripping while watching these movies, you would be mega mind fucked in a really, really, bad way for the rest of your lives! i loved these two movie so much that i bought them. oh, the third movie that arrived saturday is entitled "frankenhooker." i guess in a really streched out sense of the word you could call it "surreal." one hell of a great twist on the frankenstien mythos! i bought this one too. buying them myself sould tell you how very highly i recommend them. horrible nightmares everyone!

Un chien andalou is a bit disturbing, but definitely surreal. There is some eyeball slicing, a disembodied hand, etc. Also, isn't the Pink Flamingos movie the one where the ending scene involves the transvestite hooker eating the freshly laden dog turd?

Hmm, not too sure on surreal, but have a look for "Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom", it's in Italian but I'm sure there's subtitles haha.
Also check out Dusan Makavejev's "Sweet Movie", lots of bizarre shit going on in that one.
And there's a good one, not surreal as such but definitely worth a look - it's called La Haine ("Hatred"), it's in French and it's about racial tension in the suburbs of Paris, very good.
