Who here gets there 5 fruit and vegetable servings a day? I am about to enjoy a bowl of pineapple, mandarin oranges, cantaloupe, grapes, and bananas before i smoke a bowl after spending from like 2-4:30 am cleaning out my bloody refrigerator. this is an interesting excerpt from an article: "Yet studies show that by eating four to five servings of fruit each day, you can improve your chances of staying healthy and vibrant as you age. That's because fruit is loaded with phytochemicals, which are natural compounds that may help slow the aging process and reduce the risk of many diseases. Phytochemicals fight to protect your overall health by providing antioxidant effects, stimulating your immune system, modulating the metabolism of your hormones, and acting as antibacterial and antiviral agents. Get too few of these marvelous compounds and you set yourself up for premature aging, as well as placing yourself at risk for some cancers, heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, cataracts, osteoporosis and urinary tract infections. But if you eat the recommended amount of fruit each day, you improve your odds for a healthier life."
Dont eat the cantaloupe!!!!! I did and I got salmonella poisoning and have felt like shit for 5 days. fever, chills, joint pain, nausea.. mine is only mild. be careful. I think it knows im trying to kill it, and its giving me hell. the rest sounds really good though. I get more vegetables than fruit, though not 5 a day. maybe 3..
haha i had to do my GCSE ICT coursework on '5 a day'. It was such a painful process haha. I had to do some questionnaires n shit i cant relli remember but fuck it sucked ass. Anyone else have to do this for GCSE ICT? Apparently it was being done all over the UK too.
well i deffo eat more then when i was younger, but 5 a day = rarely i think. mostly something like 2-3 or maybe 4. mostly veggies tho
just check the dates on the cantaloupe. technically, its a muskmelon, i have never had a real cantaloupe, but they have them in europe. (Thanks to good eats for that tidbit) I rarely get all my fruits and veggies.
Lol...Oh boy, the last time I just grabbed a fruit and ate it whole was a little over a month ago when I decided to have a banana. Oh yeah and I ate some mashed potatoes earlier, too.

Alton Brown is my hero. and what counts as a seving or fruit. is one banana or apple a serving. and usually every mornig i have a smoothy(i mka e a full pitcher and save half for after school) and i put yogurt, strawberrys, banana, broccli, orange juice, black berries, raspeberries and maybe a few grape or pinapple if i have any, so how many servings is that.
not me today my eatery has consisted of 5 bowls of pretzels, a bowl of fruitloops and 5 or 6 cokes. healthy is not quite my thing.
you sound soooo much like a stoner. now i'm gonna enjoy some brussel sprouts and and some blue corn and bean dip with fruit and a soy protein shake mmmmmmmm
haha no need to be dickie man. i want to eat healthly but imo i dont like the taste of most veggies. i like corn on the cob, thats good, but i normally end up drowning that in butter and pepper. i do like fruit though, but i have none and could get no real food yesterday as my parents were in the hospital.
