ok, well ive been looking up stuff on lip piercings for awhile now. I want one but im not sure what the difference is between a lip piercing and a vertical labret is? Or is it just the same thing just one with a ring and one with a barbell?
lol no its like under the lip.. like neer the chin..at least what i thought. But then i saw pics of it and it says that a vertical labret is like right at the lip.. ugh im confused lol
A regular labret goes from directly under your lip then straight IN so you can only see one end of it, whereas a vertical labret goes from directly under your lip then straight UP through your lip so you can see the other end of it at the top of your lip. Horrible wording, but I don't know how to word it better. vertical: regular:
both piercings have the same lower bead (just below the lip), the difference is the vertical labret exits at the top of the lower lip...whereas the labret passes straight through your lip, to the inside of your mouth...however some people with a labret wear barbells in them which makes it look the same as a vertical labret, depending on where the barbell sits on your lip... put shortly...verticals never have an exit point inside your mouth...labret's do i hope that helped
labrets and lip piercings (as the term is commonly used) are essentially the same. if you want to wear a ring in your lip, mention it to your piercer and he/she will place it accordingly (usually right below your lip) and they go more or less strait back toward your bottom teeth. you can also use a flatback stud in a lip piercing (might want to mention that you your piercer too so they can place it so either jewellry will fit comfy) a vertical labret is different and is meant for wearing a barbel in so both balls can be seen. it goes up through your actual lip and you dont wear a ring in it.
