My bff is more stereotype hippy than I am. I think I'm more of the revolutionary rebellious hippie, whereas she's more just flowery love. I'm more of the crazy Abbie Hoffman-esque hippy, but she's the optimistic folksinger-esque one. She's awesome, I'd be lost without her.
my best friends 1. shes a crazy beach bum w/ a preppy side 2. shes a beautiful stoner but not a hippie 3. hes my boyfriend and hes a drummer who loves The Beatles but isnt really a "hippie" so in short nope
No, she's just a really awesome person... I don't think she fits into any stereotype, and I wouldn't stereotype her even if she did
My bff...I think he's a hippie for sure. Not a stereotypical one, but the guy has some hip qualities.
My best friend recently changed from emo to something unclassifiable... She's got kind of an attitude lately. She calls it grown up. I call it judgmental and assholish. But she's my best friend, whatareya gonna do? She goes through a lot of phases, but none of them were ever hippie...
My closest friends are not hippie at all. Some people call them that though, because they listen to stereotypical 'hippie music' and smoke weed, just as me. I have the most in common with the hippie stereotype, since I look at the world with a peace and love attitude. Uh, you know what I mean. Actually, sometimes I feel I seem like a terrible hippie cliché . I don't really mind that, but I don't feel like a hippie or calling myself a hippie at all. I'm NOT a cliché in ways like wearing tyedye, flashing the peace sign all the time and such by the way. I always feel kind of annoyed when people associate me with those kind of people. In fact, I think someone who's peaceful and about love for the world and everything on it and is conscious and caring about the world and nature doesn't have to be a hippie at all. Same with rebelling against the establishment. Even if you listen to Jimi Hendrix. But with all those things combined you will most likely see yourself as a hippie then of course. Nothing wrong with that either. Edit: haha damn, I forgot the little word 'not' and my whole post gave the wrong impression I guess. I don't feel like flashing the peace sign and wearing tyedye
Lol no, All my friends are metal heads who mostly dress in black, sometimes when I wear my tye dye t-shirt I stick out like a sore thumb, but most of the time you wouldnt be able to tell I was a hippy. The thing that binds us together is we all have very long hair
My best friend, whom you all know is definitely a hippie. She doesn't dress like the stereotypical hippie, though she does like earth tones and earthy styles. Unlike me, I'm all about classic, somewhat unfashionably paired things, and bright colors, and black. She believes in a higher consciousness and all that, she's so spiritual. We share some of the same ideals, but I think she qualifies more as a "real" hippie than I do. I'm not as earthy as she is.
My best friend isn't a hippie, but I think I've really influenced her over the years, and more and more now - she's getting into things that I like. Which is great! But she doesn't fit any type of group. I think because we spend so much time together, she knows things that she wouldn't have known before, and has a greater appreciation of some stuff. peace love Jane
My best friend is a Jackie Kennedy lover... so no, not a hippy... but she has some nice clothing choices. The other one is a punk. And the other one is pretty much a preppy type (visually).
Asmodean I see your posts all over and I've been meaning to tell you (assuming it's you in your sig) that you have some seriously wonderful hair. If more guys had hair like yours, it would make me very happy. And nope, no hippies among my best friends. They've all been a little negative lately, for some reason. Hopefully it'll pass, I don't like hanging around glass-half-empty people too much.
Pretty much, his dad is a old time hippie who taught him the way who in turn taught me the way. We're as tight as two buds in a joint.
I don't know any current/modern-day hippies, by I know a few former hippies. Obviously, there are many, many definitions and shades of "being a hippy". I'm a man with long hair and a beard, I have a strictly pacifistic philosophy, I enjoy using recreational drugs, I have little or no fashion sense, and amongst the forms of music I enjoy are sixties/seventies classic rock (Jethro Tull, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, etc.) and so-called "new age" instrumental music (Tangerine Dream, Mike Oldfield, Vangelis, etc). Plus, I'm into love. That's probably enough for most people to categorize me as a hippy, but I don't share ALL of the above with anyone I know personally.
Yeah, I wouldn't know...Probably not because of the whole stereotype thing but get this. I don't give half a flying fuck what people want to call the best people in my life!
yea my best buds a hippie and the other one says hes thinking about becoming a hippie (he pretty much has the beliefs but he doesnt look like one and doesnt call himself a hippie) but id say about 25% of my friends are hippies and the rest are an assortment of everything from punk to prep to whatever you can label them.
