I am not sure; my mom got it for his b-day one year. I know it was allot of money. You can type in what you want to see and it moves to the plant. It’s so neat.
I have no doubt... it's one of the ways I really miss getting stoned. If you're interested, I have some moon shots (including eclipse shots) in my gallery... they don't come close to yours in spectacular detail but I like them and they're not bad for a $300 digital camera... there's also a lightning shot I took earlier tonight. I'd post them here but I can't even pretend they'll look presentable next to your photographs... besides, this is your thread! There is a photography subforum in the art forum if you had any interest in sharing your wonderful gift with folks who are into photography. Just a thought.
Hey Jen love those shots. Until the freezing winter hit I would always take the telescope out at night. You do have talent! BTW I think Green was referring to some eclipse photos posted a month or so ago. Crimson - Look for a Meade ETX-90 with a "goto" mount. The goto mount is not really needed once you learn your way around. Like the front bucket of the big dipper points to polaris (n. star) then follow the little dippers handle to ....) If you have never seen the moon (even through a set of binoculars) it is quite mind blowing. My wife had no interest at all in astronomy but one view of Saturn freaked her out. Really puts things in perspective as to how insignificant (yet special) our third stone from the sun is. -B
Ive taken 3 pictures in my life that I really liked for one reason or another. Now they have all been taken on cheap digital cameras so its nothing too crazy but here they are: Tuckerman Ravine Mount Washington NH: Mount Superior Utah from the base of Alta Ski Area: Looking out at Wildcat Ski Area from the top of Tuckerman Ravine (top of the mountain in the first picture) Notice how the glaciers left the valley almost perfectly round?
