Okay, so ladies, did any of you have an american girl doll growing up?! I freakin LOVED them. I had the swedish doll. I used to spend hours pouring over their magazine we got in the mail, and on their website. One day I want to visit the American Girl doll place. nostalgia.
no, but I had about 52 of her. Im talking about www.americangirl.com and this is mine: http://store.americangirl.com/agsho...iqueId/23/nodeId/11/webMenuId/5/LeftMenu/TRUE hahaha
Aw. I think my sister had one of those. Don't know which. I had the porcelain elf. From Paris my dad brought me. She broke it.
I had the American Girl magazines and I checked out the books at the library. I never had a doll, because my parents thought I'd break her (I was a tomboy, but still had dolls, lol). My grandma bought me a Bitty Baby, though. Looks almost like a real baby, it's kind of creepy.
eee hahaha I wanted a bitty baby. I also wanted to get one of the modern dolls who could look like you.
I really wanted an American girl doll when I was growing up! I did read the books and magazines. The other thing I wanted was Baby Born. It went pee pee and could really eat! I got the chance to play with one (some kids I knew had them) and I loved it!
OOOHH!!!! I had Addy, which is kinda funny since she was the black slave girl and I'm as white as they come. But I loved her, and the stories about her were so moving. (I was a deep kid, man). My other favorite doll was Baby Alive, her mouth moved around whatever you put in her mouth and she'd wet herself. I think she also had those diapers that changed colors when she got wet, but that might have been another baby. And did anyone else have My Baby All-gone? You fed her these cherries from her jar, but the little plastic cherry on her spoon went back into the spoon really fast, so it looked like she ate them. Oh man, sometimes I still get cravings to go play dolls again. Those were the days. I loved my kids.
I think I still have my Baby Born somewhere. You squeeze her arm and she squeaks, and if you squeeze the other arm, tears will come out. That's kind of creepy.
American Girl dolls were after my time. We had cabbage patch dolls...I always had boy ones...I had no interest in the girl ones. I used to like to go through the cabbage patch dolls at Toys R Us and just look at the names...I thought it was fascinating that they all had different names.
I had a doll that came with a jar of cherries. I guess it was My Baby All-gone. I remember they smelled really good (like real cherries) but I ended up losing the jar at my aunts house and never found it.
