What will happen if someone who is diagnosed with ADD and gets Ritalin prescribed, snort Ritalin or any other stuff for ADD? Would there be any other reaction to it? Maybe it's a stupid question, but I am not sure about it. Thx.
ADD and ADHD are conditions, states of mind that are not conducive to what society expects of us. while they can be treated with medications and "fixed" or "alleviated," they are not diseases caused by germs you need to kill off with medicine. amphetamines (like adderall or dexedrine) and methylphenidate (like ritaline or concerta) will have the same action in the body and the same pharmacological effects. how the person reacts to the drug outwardly is dependant on a few things. 1 - your intent in taking them. people looking to get speedy for fun are more likely to get "fucked up" than people who take them to help with ADD. both will receive increased energy and better focusing abilities. its more a matter with what you choose to do with these. 2 - your dose. a kid who takes one pill per day as prescribed is not likely to feel it more than you would feel coffee, once you're used to taking it. 3 - your setting. you're not likely to have fun taking stimulants in school. you're more likely to shut up and pay attention and get your work done. i used to take various stimulants the doctors would give me for ADD, and when i enjoyed the feeling they gave (i eventually grew out of it and hate them now) i would sometimes snort them after school. i once snorted ritalin every day (at least one pill a day, sometimes more) for about two weeks, until i started getting nosebleeds randomly even when i wasn't on it at all. it wont effect you any differently than taking them orally, just faster, and you'll have a gross tasting drip. if you enjoy taking them orally, you may enjoy snorting them. its not really worth it, though. just take an extra pill if you want to feel more speedy than you normally do. its much safer to swallow the pills than to snort them.
Ritalin is crap. Period. People should be jailed for feeding that toxic garbage to children, to make them robots of conformity. It sickens me. My advice is to stay away from all that crap.
i agree its a nasty drug with nasty effects, and i personally hate it and will never take it again. however some folks like it, so whatever. i just think its boring and makes me feel like shit. once upon a time it made me feel pretty good, though. it really isn't all TOO different from having a couple shots of espresso though.
Thanks! I don't wanna use it myself. I am a student teacher and at my school there was a kid diagnosed ADD and on Ritalin. A teacher busted him snorting this stuff, so I was wondering why....
ok then. basically it just gives you a lot of energy and gets you pretty alert. methylphenidate is essentially a milder version of amphetamines. some people find it pleasantly euphoric, some people get really talkative and outgoing, some people get right to work and get things accomplished, some people feel like shit, and if they do a WHOLE lot some people will suffer from various forms of mental deterioration (stimulants have been known to mess with people's heads if they do it a lot and use large amounts or particularly powerful drugs. if you've known anyone who uses methamphetamine or freebase cocaine, you'll know what i mean. similar things can become of people who abuse pharmaceutical stimulants, it just usually takes a longer time and some hardcore abuse for that to take hold. snorting them simply gets the chemicals in the system faster and pretty much all at once, so there will be more of a "rush" and the effect will initially feel more powerful. using these drugs can be addictive regardless of how they are used, but the potential for addiction increases as you use more effective methods of administering the drug quickly. injecting these drugs would be far more addictive still than snorting. thats why they're almost NEVER used this way medically and why they're almost universally administered in pill form.
me and my friends call them 'phennies' (methylphenidate) and only ever snort em. have swallowed it, but the extra time it takes isnt my favourable form of admin. medication fo ADD is different to conventional speed, in that drugs such as phennies effect certain parts of the brain more than others, making them more phamaceutically appropriate. also making them less recreational, for each brain is different, and for some people, the specific spread of the drug in the brain is desirable or undesirable. personally i love it but stimulants do lose their fun slowly..
Ritaline is one of the greatest drugs on earth. If used properly. Not to brainwash kids. If you get really WASTED on weed, and then do ritalin, its like being right stoned out of your mind but being able to consentrate and hide the fact that your stoned out of your mind at the same time. It makes you feel so good! It also has an effect like speed, gives you tones and tones of energy and helps you stay up all night. Even if you have A.D.D or A.D.H.D, because I have A.D.D, I sniff it or parachutte 2-3 pills every few hours. It does what its perscribed for to, it makes you able to do anything! You consentrate some good but it makes you hyper as hell if you do lots!
i used to do adderall i started taking it in high school because one of my friends gave me some during school one day and i was shocked at the way i felt... like a bomb could drop in the classroom and i wouldn't even notice... but then i got a lil carried away, i had broken my back a few weeks after being able to get adderall, so i had alot of fun with Tylenol 3's and addrerall i was taking 5 t3's and 90 mil-grms or adderall, and then to top it off i would smoke a blunt to start off my morning... i did this for about a week... with no sleep, that was the last time i took adderall... it's a great feeling.. but outside of the classroom i felt like it was a waste.. cuz all i did was lose weight, lose sleep, and clean constantly... =) now i stick to the weed, the occasional X and booze =)
