does anybody ever have dreams when you try and run from something but you find it really hard to run like you havent got any energy or something. its the worst feeling ever. just wondered if im alone on this one haha.
Ive had this, kinda. 'Cept in mine i wasnt running, I was trying to fight somebody and I just couldn't punch for the life of me. It was like my arms were like super heavy, and just wouldnt move. This made me extremely angry, in my dream and when I was awake. I don't even recall who the other person was, or why I was trying to fight them, but it would have been really satisfying to beat their ass lol. "Ill kick your ass!" "In your dreams!" "Already done that, time for the real fight!" =]
I have a lot of dreams about being chased. Sometimes I will just keep falling down and sometimes it feels like I am running waist deep in sand or something. It's really frightening sometimes.
nope. never been unable to back away or teleport. had times when i wasn't able to think of wanting to. either just completely didn't occur to me at all, or was already too committed to something, to going forward into something or what have you. i've had one where i was in a dreamshaping contest with what turned out to be much stronger opponents. although i think they were cheating. or at least one of them was. that's one difference of my dreams from this life. not running into things to run FROM. on a few rare occasions i've had to dive for cover. but i think in can count the number of time's that's happened on the fingers of one hand too. and then it wasn't my conflict. just a matter of unintentionally getting too close to someone else's. =^^= .../\...
Yes, I have those dreams too. They're rather scary. I mean, I try to run, but I'm moving sooo slowly, like I'm being slowed down by something and I don't know what. Or when I try to fly, and I'm like slowed down again. I move a lot by flying in my dreams.
man. flying in dreams is the best feeling ever. although whenevr i fly i dont get weak its only when i run or try fighting lol.
Yes I had! These dreams are some of the worst feeling ever, it feels like your will and energy has disapparead forever.
Lol, yeah i've also had dreams like this. The feeling of utter patheticness, impotence, and weakness, ... trying to throw a punch but just can't. A recent dream actually ... i was in a bar with some friends and some idiot want's to pick a fight with me and he's hitting me (not very hard ... he's not actually hurting me at all ... but he might do). My back is knackered and because of it i can't throw a good punch for fear of putting my back out, so i'm just fending him off, unable to retaliate proper and i'm saying to my friends "Someone help me out here!" but they just sit there. So for a few minutes i'm just fending this guy off who isn't even hurting me anyway (he's more of a pest in this sense) until eventually some big guy walks in the room and absolutely wallops this attacker so hard he goes flying accross the room. One hit and it was all over for this guy. Needless to say i was pretty grateful to my saviour.
dreaming that you can't move is weird, like you're either moving through tar or you have no control - heavy! I read somewhere once that the reason you can't run in dreams is because although your brain is stimulated your body isn't, so when you dream about it, your brain is telling your body to run but your body is too deeply asleep to do it. Hence the freakyness! The mind is a strange thing... ! Peace out xx
Yes! I've had dreams where I've tried to run from something and I can't it feels like I have cement blocks on my feet, it's scary.
I have had quite a few dreams in the past where it was quite an effort to move. Many of them I would end up crawling, except even so just moving a hand or foot was incredible effort. None of these were in situations where I was running away. They were generally inside, too, instead of outside. I also did not think to try to fly in these (although I do that frequently in my dreams). I would just continue trying to move, even though it was hard. Eventually movement either eased up or the dream switched context. I have had another dreams that are similar to this - they involve kicking a ball (I used to play soccer) and although there was no strenuous effort involved, all the balls go maybe a few yards - and that off track. Very frustrating.
