Ok so I odn't know much at all about astrology, but I've recently decided I'm interested and would really like to learn. I've heard some people, when talking about their signs, list multiple signs. I always thought I was just a Cancer, but is htere more to it than that? What signs am I? My DOB is 6/30/88
oh no, there is much, much more... Go to Astro.com... if you have your birth certificate you can see your chart. For example: My sign, my sun sign, is Gemini: Talkative, hyper, quick witted, etc. But my rising sign, the constalation on the horizon at the exact time of my birth and where I was born, is the sign that repersents how I appear to others; Sagittarius: Adventurous, loves challenge, etc. So that basically means I am very talkative and hyper, and others can see also my adventurous side which conviniently goes very well with my Gemini energy. Another example. My boyfriend is a cancer. Cancer; Emotional, quiet, stern, sensitive But his rising sign is Taurus. Taurus: Stubborn, well grounded, etc. So, he's a Cancer, very sensitive and private, and his rising sign being a Taurus he's very grounded and a homebody as well. Hope that helped!
Everybody has an astrological birthchart, which is a snapshot of the location of all the planets, and their signs/houses/aspects at the moment of your birth. A lot of information comes from a birthchart, starting with the most general facets of your personality and working its way down to the nitty gritty. With your birthchart's information comes 3 primary zodiac signs by which take the most general precedence in one's personality. They are the Sun Sign, the Moon Sign, and the Ascendant, or Rising Sign. Your Sun Sign is determined by your date of birth, the astrological sign that you address to people as "my sign" such as "my sign is <blah>".The Sun Sign is the most general overview of your personality. If you were a Virgo (Virgo Sun) then it would be obvious to others that you are a generally modest and shy character, with some hypertension and obsessive-compulsive tendencies. Your Sun Sign is determined by which sign the Sun was in at your birth. It changes monthly, that's why "your zodiac sign" is dependant on your month and day of birth. Your Moon Sign is determined also by your date of birth. The Moon moves through signs about every 2 1/2 days, so it is more specific than your Sun Sign. The Moon Sign describes your inner and most emotional being, the you which you perceive from within yourself. You usually use your Moon Sign compatibility to determine who, on the inside, you claim yourself to be identifiable with, or who you claim yourself to be incompatible with. If you were say a Gemini Moon, that would indicate that emotionally, you aren't very emotional, and that you much prefer intellectual embrace than taking notice to your emotions. You could be a seeker of internal stimulation, or you might come off as cold, distant, harsh, or unapproachable. Gemini Moons often indicate superficiality, or moodiness/mood swings. See, as you change from Sun Sign to Moon Sign, you keep the traits of that zodiac sign, you just interpret them differently. The Ascendant sign, as bloody nailpolish stated before me, refers to the outward personality that you reflect, that people perceive. If you are a Libra Ascendant, you're going to appear as someone who is likeable, charming, outgoing, and laid back. The Moon refers to the inner, the Ascendant refers to the outer, and the Sun refers to the whole. You see? Its all one big pattern! Again, now that you've got all 3 signs figured out, factor them all together. Virgo Sun: Perfectionist. Picky. Logical. Gemini Moon: Shifting moods. Emotional detachment. Intellectual approach. Libra Ascendant: Come off as charming. Attractive. Communicative. All together, someone would see you as somebody who is a very logical and factual person, who doesn't get wrapped up in emotions or drama, who can solve problems easily, and gives good advice, and is very fun to talk to. People like to be around this person. Now find out yours and learn about the traits of each sign. Use these descriptions in their rightful placements to discover what your Sun, Moon, and Ascendant say about you. They work together as one. I think the moon is the most interesting to dissect. This is the place where you learn about your dark, unconscious side. For years I did not accept my moon sign, but now I truly understand....

most likely it will appear on your birth certificate, thoughI've heard of cases where it does not. It may also appear in 24-hour time, so if it says 15:03, it means 3:03.
so what did u find out??? BTW, what is your moon, sun, and rising sign? I'm still somewhat new to astrology reading, but I'd like to try on yours!
Your rising sign (ascendent) shows how you APPEAR to others who don't know the real you - your core true self is indicated by your sun sign, and aspects to it in your natal chart.
You're a Piscean like me, the rising and moon signs aren't as important. This means you'll appear (physically, mentally and emotionally) Geminian (plus any influences to your ascendent in your natal chart) to strangers, acquaintances and non-close friends. People who really know you will see ( - if they're looking - ) your true Piscean colours. The moon shows how your emotions are charged, so you have control on your emotions and they're less intense than a Piscean with moon in Leo.
I have no control over my emotions at all! Im convinced the only capricorn traits i have is being organised and punctual haha!
OK well have you seen your birth chart? There must be influences at work that counteract this Capricorn-moon trait.
