    From the Globe...
"Canada has demanded, as a condition of staying in Afghanistan, that NATO allies contribute 1,000 soldiers to help it fight in the tough southern province of Kandahar, as well as helicopters and aerial drones to aid the battle."

He's in Bucharest right now, meeting with NATO. It's likely that NATO will support it.

    The article:

Harper's plans and principles are immoral. But he is not an idiot by any means; he's articulate, a good speaker and very competent. He's good at what he does even though what he does is wrong. And Harper has a strong Conservative cabinet behind him (and none of them have been shot in a hunting accident). The simple anti-Bush tactics arent going to work.

No matter what, he's not going to give up, and it's up to the people to protest: on the streets, with NGOs, and a wide variety of other ways.

Let's all put a stop to it!

What i dont get is i dont see what more troops would do kill more kids and women, and get more people killed than ever.

well he's a dumbass thats all I can say,

if they just pulled out there would be no more war...whats the worst that could happen that already hasn't

Supporting the troops SHOULD mean bringing them home.

But it doesn't seem to mean that, does it?

As far as I am conconcerned, supporting the troops means supporting the war. Because they're the ones in the war.

As a Canadian how can you say that? Dont our troops deserve the support of NATO? We are doing some of the worst fighting in Afghanistan. We are doing more than any other nation other than the USA and Britian (and really... its debatable that we are doing more than Britian). We are not a war nation, our troops deserve to go home... but at the very least they deserve the support of NATO. 1000 troops is not enough though...

Ideally id like to see our troops home, and re-deployed as peacekeepers. However as long as the Conservatives are in power that is not going to happen. So I welcome the support from NATO, even though it should be AMERICA's not NATO's problem.

Soldiers are, very literally and I daresay inarguably, professional human killers. That is a very large part of who and what they are, by definition. Soldiers are trained and paid money to forcefully end human lives.

My philosophy regarding murder makes it absolutely impossible for me to support professional human killers in their chosen careers.

I consider Stephen Harper an unparalleled malignance; a repulsive blemish on Canada's history/reputation of being a peaceful nation.

    Love,

Why can't we all just get along? Why is everybody always pissed at everybody else? It just makes no sense!

It's all about power...seriously research any war and you will find a dispute about power rooted in that.
