I love LOVE the band Muse! It is a crime that they are not reported on every day on those entertainment shows instead of Paris Hilton and her ilk. They are crazy talented and best of all have a sense for prog rock, unlike anyone else today that isn't an obscure band.

They have not put out ONE bad song in four albums! What other band has done that lately? (Even Radiohead have had their bad one's.)

    My favorite songs:

    Knights of Cydonia
    Take a Bow
    Starlight
    Supermassive Black Hole
    Sing for Absolution
    Muscle Museum
    Falling Down
    Sober (the best song ever)
    Unintended
    New Born
    Feeling Good
    Time is Running Out
    Falling Away with You
    Hyteria
    Stockholm Syndrome

I think they're excellent, some of the best out there in indie/alternative/prog/whateverthehelltheyare. Some indie can get kind of... you know. But Muse manages to keep it creative, and often very catchy.

    I absolutely agree.

They deffinately have to be 1 of the best bands out there and hands down is the greatest band to see live, but yes sadly they are underated:(.

I do love all of their albums, but i have to say their last album was alot different to their previous ones, i suspect that they may have made their music more mainstream to get noticed. In other words toned it down to something more basic, but it's still better then the majority of the music getting around these days.

..P.S. I respect your taste in music, muse and radiohead are my 2 favourite bands :).

Yeh Muse is a really great band, i totally agree. I have been really into them lately, specially the song Sunburn. Mat Bellamy is an amazing guitarist/pianist, great artist.

would you really like to see your favorite band on those daily entertainment shows? if they cared to be on tv more often they should ask Paris to join the band [IMG]

the entertainment section in todays newspaper said something about her being multi-talented so perhaps she could play the keyboard/synth on tour so Mat can stick with the guitar.....just the way I like it. [IMG]

btw, in europe each single has been in the charts and their stadium and arena concerts sell out in no time so they are not that heavily underated.

Huh? If they covered bands like Muse, obviously Paris would be cast to oblivion.

*l* nice thought but i'm afraid that it won't be enough to get rid of her.

my point is ,would you still respect Muse as a band if they did the most retarded things just to generate some superficial and non music related attention? media overkill usualy turns something good into a joke .

I think muse is fairly overrated, they are quite popular and i don't believe their popularity matches their quality. They are alright to listen to when you are in the mood for loud, obvious and over-the-top songs. In their last two albums especially, you'd be hard-pressed to look for subtlety.

well actually i loistened to a number of their albums in a row and though i'm a big prog fan i thought their stuff was a bit too repetitive in the sense that they have several tracks that are built up with the same kind of riffs, the same structures. not that they are not good thouggh, they are, they're just one of my favourites and of course the whole media should be put upside down and get stuffed with some proper entertainment and information for the public

i love em, spesh the bass lines (chris wolstenhomlme is a god) my onli beef is with the often predictable lyrics, which i reckon are there becos matt sees the voice as a fourth instrument- which is an approanch i luv but does lead to pretty bland lyrics.

any1 heard there cover of house of the rising sun? thoughts?

Muse are pretty horrible as a Prog band. They have some good Pop/Rock tunes, but they sound a bit too much like a watered down, speeded-up version of Bends-era Radiohead for me.
