I got a dog from one of those pet places (my first mistake), and it was not working out. He was a very high energy dog, when my family is very low energy, and dont have a fenced in yard for him to run. We found him a new and wonderful home, and decided to get a new, lower energy dog. we found the breed for us, a BullMastiff, and found some puppies for sale, and got our new girl. Incase you are not familiar with the breed, they are a mix between English bulldogs, and Mastiffs, 60% mastiff, and 40% english bulldog her name is Sasha, she is a 6 month old pup, and the lowest energy, sweetest animal. and yes, i know she's big. she will mature to 110-150 lbs. She is 50-70 now (i dont have a scale) I love her to death here are some photos of her:
Awww very cute! You are in for a ride! Not the crazy hyper dog ride but the "Omg I will never go back to smaller dogs again" ride. LOL
What a pretty girl Congratulations on finding the right dog, and I agree with Lilyrayne, once you get a big, wonderful dog like that you will probably find yourself only wanting that kind of dog. They are great dogs.
Very cute. My biggest dog was about half the size of what Sasha is going to be. Now I have a small dog
What a very cool and mellow looking big dog! I rescued two puppies who my vet told me are "Louisiana Catahoula Leopard" mixes, which mean they have Bull Mastiff and Southern Red Wolf in their backgrounds. They were discovered abandoned in a trash dumpster by a very close friend and her golden retriever, named Sadie. Of course, it was her Sadie who is a most special dog and persistently kept pawing the dumpster outside the winery where my friend works and refused to let her in her car until she investigated inside by opening the lid. It was most fortunate too, since the next day was trash pickup day and I truly believe whoever put them in such a horrid place is simply the lowest form of life on this planet. I named them Ashley and Garrett and they are both now in very loving homes and their families call me every so often to let me know they are doing well. Here is a picture of them when they first came to my home at eight weeks old and after munching down a bunch of puppy food with scrambled eggs on top for good measure. They truly remind me of your Sasha who I know as a big dog will be there for you always and protect you and your family until time itself ends..
thanks all. she is a sweety. those puppys are so cute! (all puppies are, but puppies with irregular spots are especially cute to me ) Catahoula leopard dogs are one of my favorite breeds, unfortunatley, they require a lot of exersize, and i simply do not have the means to let them run around every day.
wowza these are some cute pups - i really want a chocolate lab but my apartment is too small to have a pet in it (let alone me and my roommate, but whateve). what are you feeding it? i saw these groovy designs on taste of the wild bags - which is also an all-natural, grain free pet food - i would totally feed that to my dog if i had one.
i feed her pedigree puppy food for large athletic dogs. It is keeping her healthy, and you can really see that her coat is very healthy (which totally reflects the animal's inner-health). I have a 1 bedroom apartment with my roommate, and my huge puppy. it all depends on how much space you need, and how you want to keep the dog. there are tons of smaller breeds that are great dogs my personal favorite are pugs or english bull dogs (a little bigger, but not by any means big dogs). I wanted a pug, but my boyfriend didn't want one...then i tried for the english bulldog, but they are very expensive when purebred. remember-all pups are cute...you have to see the dog in them
you definitely feed her inside and out - i can tell! yeah i've been looking at small pups but i think i want a chocolate lab...so maybe i'll just move out of the city to a cool farm - that would be glorious for me and the dog.
It's a German Shepard/Chinese Sharpei mix. Cute little puppy! Hopefully, we can get him from the shelter before anyone else does.
awww. should be a good dog. german shephards are very obediant, but sharpeis tend to have a mind of their own... it'll be interesting to see what his tendencies are good luck with everything...and make sure to post up some photos!
Yeah. I'm hoping that he'll be a good guard dog and easy to train. He's only 3 months. But if you want a pic now, I have the link to his page. http://http://www.petharbor.com/detail.asp?ID=A431031&LOCATION=MOHS&searchtype=ADOPT&friends=1&samaritans=1&nosuccess=0&rows=10&imght=120&imgres=thumb&view=sysadm.v_mohs&fontface=arial&fontsize=10&zip=63110&miles=50&shelterlist='MOHS','MOHS1','MOHS2','MOHS3','MOHS4'&atype=&where=type_DOG,age_y
