In August of 2006 I tried for the 4th time, to grow my hair out. I had always kept it short (really short) and never made it past 2 or 3 months of growing. Well now is a different story. August 2008 will be 2 years since the haircutting days and 1yr 2months with dreads. They are just over 9 months old as I am posting this, the pictures are around the same age. Starting from 2 months with no haircut, until 9 months with dreads, check out My Journey My hair: It was thick, straight, and acted like a wire brush. As it got longer it became wavey, but never curly. I felt, and still feel, that my hair is one of the not-so-dreadlock-friendly types... and look how it's turning out. Thanks God. Maintainence: I was my scalp (meaning I concentrate on it alone) about 2 times a week with Dr. Bronners. Diluted or not, it doesn't matter. Once a month I will fill the tub up with 2-3 inches of water and pour lots of Dr. Bronners in. I'll then lay in it and meditate or pray while it cleans me and my hair. Anyway, just wanted to say that I had my doubts at times but never worried. Just pray and let God know you love him. He'll show you that he loves you as well. - forward with your journey!
Backcombed, then prayed and ejoyed the journey. I have been using a crochet hook a bit lately. Everyday something new pops up with them, I love it.
I've taken more pictures this morning... early (like 3am). Since I'm sensing you wanted more dread pictures #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 #7 #8 Hope you like.
